This seems ominous. Any validity to this? Any thoughts as to who the player / players might be?

DOGS PLAYERS TO OPT OUT OF HUBS
Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge says the club is expecting some of its players to opt against joining the squad in an interstate-based hub. The Bulldogs expect to know by the end of Friday where they’ll be heading for their next block of games. “The difficult thing for everyone going into a hub is just leaving their family behind,” Beveridge said. “I think we’ve got eight dads and the boys will make decisions on whether or not (they go into a hub). “We’d love to take everyone with us and we’ll definitely take all our players and we’re hoping to be able to take partners and young children if that’s what the choice is. “There might be one or two that might not be able to go and that’s fine, so we’ll work through that. “But everyone is probably looking forward to it more than anything. “I think there is a mixture of envy from many that we’ve actually got the opportunity to go and travel for a period of time and get outside of the state. Tom Liberatore had to move out of his home this week as it’s located in a COVID-19 hotspot. “The likelihood is we’ll go to a place that is a bit warmer, which is good considering its smack bang in the middle of winter.” Staff, coaches and players living in COVID-19 hotspots this week had a mad scramble to find temporary accommodation to avoid being locked out of New South Wales. Beveridge said a number from his club had to find temporary digs. “I think we had seven players that had to move and three staff members (that had to move),” he said. “Most went and stayed with relatives or staff and the players picked up and moved into hotel rooms. “A couple, like Libba (Tom Liberatore) and his young family, went and stayed in a Airbnb and Jongy (Lin Jong) with his pup as well, as anyone with a pet had to move into an Airbnb. “We got that done pretty quickly and everyone’s marching to that beat.”

Mentioned it in the discussion topic, but is there any merit in sideways trading Dusty? High BE and still finding fitness apparently. I can still field a full DEF line, don't need to trade there like a lot of people.
This would allow me to get King's score on field and also keep Fyfe. Leaves me just short of my ideal Serong/Hill rookie replacement though and will need to choose another mid/fwd rookie at up to $160K. Should be plenty of choices.
(Naismith to Grundy my other trade planned).

Not sure about it mate. I spent some serious time looking through my own side and can't see me getting to something that even resembles a full premium side. I'm not sure sideways trading a playing premium is the way to go. I'd be looking to rid yourself of onfield rookies, or rookies for decent cash generating rookies first before trading out a bloke who is playing and should still finish in the top bracket of his line.
The rest of us have no hope then if your team won't get to premium. I looked over mine last night and the best I think I can get is a team with compromised picks like Ridley at D6, Yeo at M7, Rowell at M8, Steven at F6. And that's using virtually every trade with no trading for injuries beyond this week.
Makes me think I should keep Fyfe but getting 2 keepers in Simpkin and Ridley might just be worth it.
Edit: I probably shouldn't call Rowell a compromised pick, but surely he can't keep this pace up

Yep, I've been saying it all week that I want to keep Fyfe. But the ability to turn him into two keepers, or at a minimum one and a better rookie (Serong type) is very tempting. Every option I have come up with so far, be it trade or hold him, has me heading into Round 10 with the same amount of trades use, and upgrades made (premiums on hand). However, trading him will see me get 2, if not 3 more premiums scores on field over that period (by getting premiums in sooner).
Really tough one. A lot for me comes down to whether Pickett beats out Graham for that last spot for the Tigers, and if Rivers holds.

Not enough cash. Higher team value than most though. My forward line is probably my strongest.

My plan involves trading Neale next week along with maybe Starcevich for Titch and Hurn. Seems absurd thinking of trading Neale and hoping he drops in price enough to get him again but, like you say, that's my best way of getting 2 or 3 more premiums on field soon (especially given I missed the Pittonet train).

Assuming the Williams is of the Dogs variety, then the above looks very well considering no Grundy/Gawn/Neale. With the injury to Fyfe and Naismith as well as managing to steer clear of the carnage, you have an opportunity to grab 1 of the aforementioned or a Ridley type to allow an upgrade to Whitfield,etc next week.

It'd hurt my team in the short term as it would be one less premo score for a week or two in an already weak team impacted by injuries - the ITB figure is also likely to be north of $600k depending on who I bring in which is a lot of cash to be left sitting idle.
What it would do is allow me to embark on a string of premo upgrades over the next 4-5 weeks and give a bit more breathing room for cows to moo and premos to fall.
There'd also be the side benefit of being able to
tread water while hub situation shakes itself out with regards to players from VIC teams who wont be heading interstate, although I suspect SC would look at concessions for SC teams affected by the shift to hubs for so that's more of a minor consideration.
Still up in the air on this but I'll mull it over this afternoon.

I haven't watched any bombers games this year and wondering why Ridley is doing so well...... also noticed Saad scoring similar, too.
Does he have a position change from previous seasons, or just getting better or maybe the ball is in there back half more often?
Was thinking to get him while he is cheap, but would hate to think it was just a fluke, and he would be scoring 60s from here on.
