Was all set for something like Tyler Brown up to Yeo with banked cash.

But can't hold Fyfe, Rowell, Bennel and Dev Robertson (1 game wonder) all on the bench so I guess Rowell is out.

Rowell - lets assume he misses one week (or less), any confidence in a dislocated shoulder is not going to give him more issues - is it a given we trade? anyone know of a player suffering this and doing ok. would have thought it leads to less tackles and eventually succumbs for surgery.
I think dislocations are often either just a couple of weeks if no damage, or a lengthy stint if the ligament is torn. So I'd keep if it's only a couple.

With plenty of rookies now looking to have maxed out or getting close to maxing out in Starc, Buda, McInerney, Pittonet, Sturt (potentially), and others not getting a game due to form or injury in Brander, Noble, Bennell, Rowell AND with Fyfe still on the bench, going to have a number of decisions to make this round.

Will have near on 500k in the kitty too. It will probably come down to trading those players who don't look like they are in any chance of returning in the short term and holding on to those rookies with the best JS.

Young Player. Going to be a star of the future. Hard as it may be for the coach and the player, need to rest him for a few weeks to get mobility and strength back into the shoulder. But most importantly confidence. What you do not want, is to bring Matt back early and risk shoulder surgery. Means season over and long term issues for the future.

I’m guessing it’s a cash grab at his “peak” price - possibly hoping to fuel multiple upgrades ?
He's not dropping in price, and doesn't look like he will. Once you trade him, he's gone IMO. Seems like cutting off your nose... etc. I'm just glad I started him, and there's no way he's going anywhere.

many with Neale want to trade him out for peak cash, those without want to get him in. Tags will dictate his pricing, what many miss is he is one of the genuine few who deserve to be up 5-10% on output and price, due to increased TOG. He also hasn't met with GWS, Swans, North, Melb, GC and maybe even get a soft Guthrie tag this week (I think that who he is playing, followed by GWS).

TOG this week
Neale 98%
Yeo 74%
Cripps 88%
Danger 83%.
Bont 79%
Macrae 89%

Neale + Rowell = $ 1.2 ish down to say a Yeo & Whitfield probably then gives enough change for another premium upgrade the following week.

lose 2 premiums (one injured) to gain 3 premiums , makes sense to me

bring back Rowell if he recovers well enough from his shoulder down the track

As the afl moves to have games in close succession, players may be rested, this is the beginning, it's no longer rookie roulette, it could be anyone.

As the photo suggests, older players probably rested and the players who may be carrying niggling injuries, but I think most will play. That's the reason the playing time this year was shortened, as the AFL anticipated short turn around between games.

I hope they haven't forgotten what happened to David Swallow. He looked like a future star until he started getting more opposition attention because GC didn't have much apart from Ablett, got beaten up a bit, has had consistent injury problems and hasn't come close to fulfilling his potential as a result.

I’m looking at Yeo, but worth flagging that he will likely still face a high BE, and that the commentators called out one incident during play as symptomatic of what’s wrong with the Eagles at the moment.

A teammate had the ball and Yeo just ran past without presenting an option to receive it, creating a block or the like. I probably didn’t see it as significant watching it live, but they showed the replay a couple of times and seemingly thought it was bad enough to call it out.

Personally I’m not assuming he’s back to premo output just yet, and would ideally wait a week to see another decent score and maybe a decent game before making that judgment.

Maybe everyone already has Whitfield, but he seems like a safer (and cheaper) pick this week if you need a premium to replace Rowell. Durability probably the only downside vs Yeo as I see it. Likely cheaper, I believe a lower BE, DPP and more certain of being a top scorer on his line.

I’m thinking about something like Whitfield and Hibberd next week to get another look at Yeo.

Bont should also be a reminder that it’s probably not a good idea to just jump on after only one game.....

I’m probably looking at Ridley/Whitfield myself for Pittonet/Rowell.
