I can but it will be difficult to grab 1 or several of Matterson/Haas/McInnes in the upcoming rounds. Will J Field be a good selection as a bench FB (will not need to be played in the 17) whilst M M Moses is injured?
Jai will no doubt do well, I just don't know if hell do as well as a Gutho.

Fermor from the Titans looks to be one of the next lowest priced trade ins for next week. Keep an eye on him.

Has everyone given up on Ponga? Cash in now?

Appears most either believe Ponga is no longer a keeper OR believe he may be, but can make 150k plus in next few weeks by trading him in and out.

Deciding between Fermor and Field now... likely want the player as one of the reserves for this week only.

I'm waiting for Ponga to come down a touch more and upgrade Papenhuyzen. Reckon he's (Ponga) just had a bad run of luck the past month and will have a good time of it with finals on the line for Newcastle.

Gutherson's scores will lower once Moses comes back (note his last two scores are a result of Moses going down/out last week), so if you are grabbing Gutherson, be very wary of Moses' return (averaged under 60ppg when Moses was in the team, 45ppg in games without a ton). Given the lack of information surrounding Moses' injury, he could easily be back next week or in a month.

I'm grabbing Fermor as there aren't many 2rf cheapies floating around at the moment. Hoping another one pops up for when I do another one up, one down next week.

Thanks - far better NRL knowledge than me.

Presume Field falls in to the same category above? You don't think he is a good get?

If we had good intel on the amount of time Moses is out (3-4 more weeks), then Field would probably be a good option. Unfortunately, its all up in the air at the moment with Moses even saying he won't rush back, but that could be him being cagey so opposition teams don't prepare for him.

Gutherson's spike in scores is mainly because of his taking on more of the play-making duties and getting early ball from Field who is obviously less experienced. You look at the number changes in Gutherson's stats with Moses on/off the field:

With Moses (6 rounds): 2 tries, 1 try assist, 4 linebreaks, 3 linebreak assists
Without Moses (2 rounds: 0 tries, 5 try assists, 3 linebreaks, 6 linebreak assists!

Last match where Field scored 80, he got a try and a linebreak but more importantly hasn't been credited with any Try Contribution, Linebreak Assists or Try Assists. This screams trap to me, as when Parramatta come up against better defensive units, Field will have less and less ball, with Gutherson and Dylan Brown being favoured to handle the ball under pressure.

By the way, I'm not trying to discourage people from grabbing Gutherson, just pointing out the uncertainty over him continuing the heavy scoring when Moses is back. His draw over the next 5-6 weeks looks exceptionally tempting, but even against the Bulldogs and Titans, he scored sub-40 because Dylan Brown and Moses stole the majority of the attacking points.

TLDR: If you already have Gutherson, keep him and hope he averages 70+ over the course of the season. If you don't, weigh up whether you can find value elsewhere before chasing Gutherson's points.

I am off Gutherson due to the risks outlined.

I am wanting one of the two purely as a cash grab whilst awaiting the ability to afford Teddy.

Now Gutherson may go up a touch more, however wouldn't mind spending that premium spot on Mansour and grabbing field for the downgrade.
The alternate option is grabbing Gutherson and Fermor.

Likely both traded in have to play in starting 17 (or play Luai who is averaging 50).
Likely the FB (gutherson or field) are traded to Teddy in 2 weeks!

Every coach see Gutho with a -33 BE, and Ponga with a high BE. Chance you take.

Good write ups.
I agree Gutho is a beneficiary of the loss of Moses. I'm not sure why Ponga has dropped, however I personally was going to be playing ponga/turbo/teddy combos around matchups. With Turbo out of that combo, an opening has opened, but will def be keeping an eye on Moses at the same time.

Ponga
BE 154, projected cash -$61.8k

My choice for Gutho is a price grab plus points while Moses is out and Ponga looks off (a little). Both however are exceptional.

Next week aiming for one of McInnes, Nofo, CSmith

For those curious, this is my team (46K ITB and 19 trades left post-trades)
Went Guler + Capewell > Fermor and Klemmer

1594271509446.png

Happy with my potential upgrades to come in the next 2-3 weeks as I jumped on Johnson about 2 weeks prior to everyone else hopping on which saved me around 100K. Had to hold Capewell for longer than I wanted, but I've used his cash the way I wanted to. Hoping to go Katoa + JTB > Gun 2rf + FRF cheapie next week and then possibly Koroisau > Top tier hooker the week after.

Got baited into benching Best and fielding Fidow because I figured I'd get Fidow's AE anyway. Now I've heard Best is right to go.

At least Tedesco went big as my C, might make up for it slightly.

1336 VC Tedesco loop
Got Fidow's 12
Left Best out and put on Funa who did not play. Missed the late call for Bmoz being out. So only had 16 playing including Fidow.

Will wait a few days to decide on trades.

1414 this week, moves me up to rank of 3719, bit the bullet and went Ponga to Teddy (C) and JTB to Taupau so very happy with that. Early thoughts on trades are fuimano to fermor and shibasaki to either JAC or Mansour. Worried about Mansour as Chrichton is such a hog but could do anything against the cowboys, JAC may be worth a punt with storm having titans though
