I’m relieved to find I’m not the only coach struggling with trades!
They went from 30 to 24 in response to the season becoming 17 rounds. At the time I thought this was the correct call given Dreamteam prior to 2012 was always <24 trades. However the real killer lies with cash generation.
The discrepancy between a rookie and a premium is far too large for the number of trades we have available. Subsequently, the Magic Number is too high. A high MN essentially explains that players need to average less to maintain their price than a relatively lower NM, as such, we have seen far less “fallen premiums”.
Take Matt Rowell for example: Rowell was the 11th highest scorer prior to his injury, but is still some $200k off most midfield premiums at $550k, compared to being ~ $100k in SC at 450k.
So in the end we have more difficulty upgrading AND fewer trades!
FWIW I have 7 upgrades to complete with only 14 trades left
Taylor will be a keeper at this rate
