I can’t understand anybody considering Jack Steven. He’s averaging just 54.5 from four games. Sure he’s cheap but for good reason.

He looks so far off the pace it’s just not funny. Hands on hips looking absolutely knackered several times during the game and just plain slow.

In a year where we need all hands on deck especially with upcoming byes, he just can’t be relied on with fitness, injury and mental health concerns. How many red flags do you need?
Anyone considering Steven can't have seen him recently. I get that Scott backs the players he wants in the side but geez. He's got a lot of work to do and given his injury history he's probably not allowed to do much running during the season.

FWIW I had this info relayed to me earlier in the week from a contact that has had a very good track record over the last couple of years.
Any idea whether Clarko will persist with Ceglar as #1 ruck when his toe is right? I'd prefer to hold him as he's my ruck cover and will have passed the big 3 rucks after this week, but no point if McEvoy is going to take over ruck duties.

Good question!
I'm forced to keep Ceglar this week, so trading him out this week won't happen. It will give me another week to assess him.
Can Ceglar play another position well (Fwd)?
From what I've seen, he can't, so based on my minimal observation and HAW injuries, he should keep his Ruck role.

Just some thoughts regarding Jack Steven's score. He got 67, but it should have been 81 based solely on two umpiring decisions in the first quarter.

Firstly, he was pinged for run too far, a free kick you rarely see paid (-4 points). As he was pinged, he hit a teammate on the chest around 30 out from goal. At least 4 points for the effective kick and another 3 points for a score assist (surely).

He was pinged a couple of minutes later for a deliberate out of bounds. I assume that is counted as a free against resulting in another -4 points.

If you do the maths, that is a 14 point loss based on two decisions that could very easily have gone the other way.

So, why did I go to the effort to point these small moments out? Well, an 81 looks a helluva lot better than a 67. If you are keeping a close eye on him, like me (great value at 300k), you might find it useful to know that his score likely SHOULD have been a lot more respectable.
And also, looking more up to the pace of the game. Slowly working his way towards better match fitness.

I should be able to leave him until next week without munching on a donut also.
My feel is Clarko keeps going with him... He's had good and bad games and from what I've seen McEvoy has been solid down back.

Just a question...if I bring a non playing player on to the field and make him Captain does my 'Emergency' also become my Captain or does my Vice captain come into play here?
