Yeah think he’s awesome value at 410k and great for a side like mine with a lot of deadweight and terrible rookies. Think he should still average 95 odd.
Might still be a team specific selection.
One point maybe for teams to keep in mind is the number of WBD players in their side. Not sure if it’ll be best 18 for the potential bye rounds to come but given that’s the precedent, it’s probably likely. I think one of Bont/Macrae + BSmith should be fine but might be tricky for teams to have 3-4 (ie say Bont, Macrae, BSmith and Daniel) unless they have good benches.

I'm planning on trading in Daniel soon as well so that's a good point you've just made (the only dogs player I have is Macrae). I could also look at Laird to avoid this problem but he's becoming hard to trust at the moment (I do have Doedee already as well).
It's probably not possible to get Smith this week if one of Starcevich and Noble is named on the extended bench (annoying they both play Sunday). If both are named on the extended bench I'll trade Hayden Young to Daniel and hopefully at least one is named on Friday, if not I'll probably have to downgrade one for a rookie to avoid a donut (unless Rivers gets recalled) - I have the cash in the bank to make the Young to Daniel trade on Thursday before a rookie downgrade.
I was also thinking of getting Zerrett in next week if not Bailey Smith this week and he won't have a bye, which is also valuable. Smith will still be relatively cheap come next week so I could make a call then depending on what unfolds.

It will be a good week to have a close look at the Essendon and Melbourne premiums and also which players provide the most value assuming byes with 3 trades per week commence from Round 9.
With so many rookies stagnating in the 230k range this year 1 up/2 down through the first fortnight of byes may not even be feasible unless the Premium Upgrade is in the $480k-$520k range or teams have built up a hefty bank already.
