Current thought/draw dependent/etc.

I'm thinking:
- Close the negative pod - Pittonet to Gawn
- Bring in a pod - McInerney (take your pick) to Zorko

Looking at Hayden & Taylor to Zorko and a mid eligible cheap rookie so that i can move one of my M?F players forward.
ATM looking at Cahill from Essendon but know absolutely nothing about him.

I'm liking the Zorko pick.
surely he can string some scores together, given Neale should be getting the attention. $487k for a player capable of going 108-110 from here to the end of the season seems good to me.

I know you'd push back on the Gawn move. To Thanh's point, I just cannot see any other premo being worth it... I'm actually open to a Ladhams type just to do something different!

The captaincy value, bye out the way, 4/6 scores above 150, was sitting at only 27 % ownership - it’s hard to ignore.

But then again ...
Think this is just coincidence and I wouldn't read too much into it. Early 2016 he hadn't yet properly emerged as a gun ruckman, 2017 he was playing injured, 2018 he did alright but Stef Martin was still in his prime, 2019 he hurt his ankle.

I captained him in that game last year and won't hesitate to do so again.

I take it we have cooled on Yeo? He's only $20k more than when everyone wanted to get him in, but his last 2 games we only "good enough".

I don't think I can get B Smith anymore, given he'll be the 3rd Bulldogs mid I have (with Bont and Macrae). But I want to make an upgrade somewhere, and my mids are the list exposed with 4 rookies on-field.

Plan is to get Gawn in. But am I chasing points? Currently costing $375,000 or so from Pittonet. Best 18 makes him even more desirable IMO and no bye also a plus. He seems like he could score 180 basically in any game due to inflated ruck scoring this year. It may delay the completion of my team, but 320+ points as the big C every other week isn’t an unrealistic expectation, is it?

I think the reason that he has been cooled on, maybe that alot have already got him either 2 weeks ago or this week just gone. There seems to be a lot more focus on B Smith this week as he is at his lowest likely price.

TOG has been Serong's greatest limiting factor to his scoring. Even when he's on the field, he's been known to be keeping tab on an opposition MID. For whatever reason I get this feeling that JL hasn't fully release him yet...Is fitness the issue,,,?
He actually plays more TOG when Fyfe's in the team as opposed to when he's OUT and have scored accordingly...***scratching my head***
I reckon there’s a spike game coming for him but there’s a chance he might start to bleed a bit before he gets there. I’m happy to hold for a while I think.

TBH, I think it might be a bit un-realistic to expect 160 every other week, hopefore maybe, but not expect.

Having said that I do think that Grundy/Gawn are aside from Goldy, 20-30+ on average better than any other option.

This is where I’ve got to weigh up. If he goes at 130 for the rest of the year, probably not worth it. Maybe unrealistic but it’s probably what I’d be hoping for!

I was planning Cripps to Treloar next round, the Carlton team dynamic seems to have changed a lot this year with Cripps being less of an atlas.
To me Cripps is too small now the way he plays and has alot of strapping going on. Poor kids gonna have a shorter career playing out that way.

I had Ladhams as my F/R option in my pre season side right up until teams were named, then switched to Ceglar. I still rate him, but couldn't take him until I see him alongside Lycett for a bit (assuming Lycett is available), as I just can't see any job security. (In the pre season is convinced myself that Port had got rid of Ryder so that they could play Lycett and Ladhams, but it just hasn't eventuated, and Port seem to have found a balance that works).

All us non Gawn owners have to consider the same thing.

I am personally accepting I got it wrong when I didn't get him in a few weeks ago. Won't be playing the chasing points game and overpaying for what I think he will achieve from here.

Leaves two options - go another ruck or upgrade elsewhere. I am double upgrading elsewhere.

In both scenario's we can also dream of two down weeks and grab Gawn soon. I will even give Max a 5 game PB against Brisbane of 98!!

I'm set on King to B.Smith but still need to work out a downgrade.
Will likely be McHenry, McInerney or Brander OUT depending on team selections.
Who to bring in is the conundrum because there's no one on the bubble screaming pick me.
Ideally I'd like a DEF as I've got no bench cover (Brander & Rivers). Looking at Butler 141k, McPherson 158k or McKay 149k. Or perhaps a cheap, risky option like Gould 117k or Bianco D/M 117k.
Who are the rest of you thinking for a downgrade target?
