Trac will almost certainly score more in his game in hand than Hill would have scored this week.
I think the value of the game in hand is being overestimated recently. Assuming bye rounds continue using best 18 scoring, the value of Petracca playing effectively replaces your 18th highest score for that round.

As many are completing their teams, I would estimate the 18th score to be around 60-70, meaning the extra game is really only giving a 30-40 point benefit (assuming Petracca goes around 100).

This is however assuming there is not too much carnage. Obviously if you are only able to field 17 without him, Petracca becomes very valuable.

I think I would probably try fix the Hill donut... sounds like you would cop another donut if he’s not back next week? What would your options be? If you didn’t have Ridley, he’d be an obvious target.

Otherwise, McPherson, Day or McKay types are probably the way to go (good thing you didn’t get Egg!)
I was hoping to target Lloyd or Daniel next week. If I make a move this week, I already have Ridley and Sicily, so probably limited to another Essendon defender or Houston, but I’m not convinced.

Yeah, unfortunately not a great time to “buy” defenders with most of the good options with a bye soon or not quite bottomed out yet (ie Stewart).

I’ve decided to play McAsey myself so probably close enough to a donut anyway.

All considered perhaps Trac and the donut is the better move in the end. And you can use ur 3rd trade next round to bring in Ling worst case...

I think you may be right that we might be overstating the benefit but it’s still one extra premo over rookie score, which can add 4-5ppg of extra value to a player in an XY.

E.g. say the XY is Oliver v Treloar and they both avg 110 from next round. Oliver has an extra 110 over a 70 to Treloar for his bye round. Treloar’s points in team average then becomes 106 (compared to Oliver’s 110).

Equation completely changes with a donut or poorer rookie score tho!

Essendon and Melbourne players have as much chance as being rested in Round 9 - 12 as players from other clubs so that nullifys any "extra game" advantage".

Who knows how they schedule Rd 13 - 18.

I think I’m going to bring in Pertracca after this round, I’m assuming Melbourne are still getting a Double Game Round, if not it’s worth it anyway yeah?

No DGR, they are just assumed, along with Essendon, to have already had their bye.
Getting an Oliver, Petracca, Gawn, Zerrett or Ridley means you still have to worry about injuries, or the dreaded "rested", but hopefully will give you an extra number through the 3 or 4 Bye Rounds ahead.

529/5+C (Whitfield)

YOLO’d Whitfield as skipper without too many other options I really liked. Saw what Higgo scored last week against the tiges and thought Whitfield was as good a chance as any to do the same. Ended up being Kelly who chopped but 116 is not the end of the world and don’t have to worry about skipper anymore. Tough round coming up for me it feels like *gulp*

Also ex-Jelly owner here as well.

49 games in X days. Assuming no unanticipated delays the end date will probably be Sunday 20th September but could be Monday 21st September, ie 5 weeks after the end of Round 12.

As the AFL have tried to keep a regular fixture for Rounds 9-12 in the sense that their are no Double Game Weeks we can only assume for now that Rounds 13-18 may be similar, which is good for fantasy footy.

It would make sense for the byes to be front ended towards rounds 13 & 14 and more regular rest to apply in Rounds 17 & 18 if they intend to launch straight into finals to minimise time in hubs. Presumably the last few home and away games would be between teams out of finals contention when the final fortnight of the fixture is released as used to be the case when the Round 23 floating fixture was released but before the post Round 23 bye introduced.

636/7.

The good: all 4 prems played have tonned up with an average of 123 collectively. 3 rookies down and only 2 to come. Traded Grundy in this week for pitt to close a negative pod (as already have gawn), it's so good to see his name there.

The bad: 3 rookie scores on field are 60, 56, 30 for an av of 48ish.

The ugly: me, lost my head and could have looped either vandermeer (30) or Pickett with Simpson but totally forgot about setting any loops. Life just got in the way!

Plenty of time to still hit par and hold rank, vc/c on grawndy com'on boys!
