Dominic Baker saying they are going to sign a group of internationals but not all of them can play at the same time so they will be juggling them.

Hey guys,

Anyone know if the NZ squad for the T20s vs WI has been annouced? NZ are also slated to play 3 T20s vs Pakistan 18th-22nd December. Don't really follow NZ cricket but I assume there's a fairly high chance Munro & Milne get named in these squads. If they do, with the quarantine rules I guess we need to assume they wont be seen until the 2nd half of the tournament? If anyone has any info/thoughts on this would appreciate the insight :)
@Woosie is your man for all things NZ cricket.

Squads not announced yet.

Munro no longer has a contract with NZC but did play against India earlier in the year.

Milne last played for NZ in 2018 , although they have 5-6 of their fast bowlers currently injured.

No quarantine period from people arriving from NZ (unless that has changed again)
Haha, not really, I just keep an eye on who's coming through now and then. Cricinfo is where it's at ;)

Games - 43
Runs - 1119
Avg - 26.64 (didn't bat in one game)

Avg has dropped due to his poor record of late 5,4,4,0,4

Supercoach wise
Old scoring - 45.65
New Scoring - 41.71
Nice, thanks!

DNB only once is encouraging, as is going out every time he bats (ie he doesn’t run out of balls => he presumably bats high). Not sure if he opens for Hobart this year, but it could be a decent role if so. Could also be cheapish given those recent failures.

His availability and Hobart’s early DGR might constrain his SC relevance unless cash becomes a major issue.

Is it possible a bowler can bowl 4 overs, but when they come to bat, sub him out, because he hasn't batted, and bring in a gun?

He is only available for the final 3 games , unless you see him getting dropped from the Test side 😀

Paine
Burns , Pucovski
Green , Labuschagne

you could have a all donut bench for 10 rounds and pray you don't have any late outs

No, because the sub is made in the first innings. There is no second innings sub. As others have mentioned anyone who bowls multiple overs/bats can't be subbed out.

(I still dislike the idea).

If only they introduced the rule where 1 bowler could bowl unlimited overs , would completely change the game and tactics to use

Theoretically the openers and face the full 20 Innings yet a bowler can only bowl 4 overs.

A bowler gets penalised for height & width yet no restrictions on the type of shot a batsmen can use each over.

Just set up bowling machines and move the ropes in another 20 metres.

Makes decisions on who to field easier :)

Probably no SC relevance this year then unless you’re chasing late season PODs or the like.

Interesting that he scores >50% better when he doesn’t face the first ball, and over a decent sample of matches. Good stats from @Damion23

I actually think he has massive SC relevance this season depending on his price , think he was $ 90k ish last season.

Although it looks like the Hurricanes have the opening game in each of the first 3 rounds.

So by my records if DC goes at an average of 50:
- First two games he will priced at ~111k
- If he holds that for another game it will be ~114k

So by my records if Khawaja goes at an average of 50:
- First two games he will priced at ~119k
- If he holds that for another game it will be ~122k

Quite a few other variables will come into play but those are my estimates give or take $500 for rounding purposes ...
Actually I was bit rusty in my initial estimates and have redone them:

So by my records if DC goes at an average of 50:
- First two games he will priced at ~114k
- If he holds that for another game it will be ~121k

So by my records if Khawaja goes at an average of 50:
- First two games he will priced at ~121.5k
- If he holds that for another game it will be ~127k

Will still be variables that impact them though.

Looks like Coulter-Nile , Maxwell , Short , Stoinis & Zampa are going to be a popular combination.

Looping Handscomb/McDermott off the bench

Expect Ahmad , Turner , Wildermuth & Dunk/Gotch/Nielsen to feature prominently on the bench.

So I guess the other onfield 5 spots will be determined if people wish to start Strikers on their bench or not.

Certainly see the value in Behrendorff , Christian , Khawaja , Lynn , Tye etc.

Would like to know how fit Milne is.

And the yearly question on the England bats.

So do you play it conservative & safe like the masses from the start (and follow the fixture) or try something different and get off to a flyer ?

Interesting to see different people's approaches as we get closer to the start.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading 37 pages of good advice, thank you to all of you.
one question about the first round. Do we have the team finalized by the first game or can we still trade and change players if they have not played yet
