If he lines up round 1 he will "possibly" be in my team but too expensive as a "donut" option ... got another in mind for that "potential' purpose"
I think me and you have more chance of playing Round 1 than Green 😀

Will either be playing in the Australia A game or in Adelaide (maybe Sydney) preparing for the 1st Test.

I should be able to use a Striker for Round 1 if needed , outright C in Round 2 & a 🌟 in Round 3 if I have worked out things correctly.

Dunk in the PSL is the one that stands out above. If he could post numbers like that for the Stars double then he would be a must have.

He has been awfully shizenhousen recently in the BBL though..
If his recent BBL form continues, then the below will need to be added to our vocabulary to describe our feelings towards him.

Looking at the X Factor rules though .... good fielder, pinch hitter and backup keeper .... but is he a key cog in the starting team ...

- Just pontificating though .... I'd start him personally ...

I imagine a lot of these sort of discussions arising soon ... swapping a 5/6th bowler for a hitter and vice versa ...

For example .... A bowler goes for 20 runs off his first over .... bang !! seeya son gonna need an extra hitter to make up for those conceded runs ...

Biggest concern for me with Dunk & Gotch is Maddinson is due back Round 2 , Stars have the Bye in Round 3 and then Bairstow and Pooran are arriving at some stage.

Bairstow , Cartwright , Dunk , Gotch , Larkin (if signed), Maddison , Maxwell , Pooran , Stoinis are not all playing together.

I suppose the other way you could look at is how many are trade bait v season long keepers .... think I might need to to assess these players later on today ...

True

Depends how you wish to set up , but probably not hard just to view as bench players and then if they make enough money trade them out if they are actually still playing.

I think I have almost finalised my starting side so then need to start looking at Round 4-6 and see how it all fits with that and start pencilling in a trade plan.

I guess you can sought of look at it like this:

For instant massive cash generation you generally need a cheap player to come out all guns blazing ... like Rauf last year etc ..
- or play the BE game ...

Mid priced players you are looking for points v the price .... Dorf, Tye, Lynn, DC, Khawaja etc .... they "should" hold price value but it's the scores to me that are more important ....

High end priced players ditto .... points v potential price drops ....

So for every high end priced player I have I'm looking to o***et potential price decreases via a price rise from another player ...

Hope that makes sense ...
That makes perfect sense, and raises an interesting point.

At times during the IPL season I was more or less maximizing my (expected) DGR points subject to my budget constraint, but it got harder at times because players were losing cash.

This can happen even if you make good choices (someone gets a good ball and gets out for a duck, a fielder drops a catch, etc) but it did occur to me that it could become an issue if it continued.

I did have an idea that if I wanted the highest scoring DGR player but they potentially had a high BE, potentially I should either pick the next best option, or pick a low BE player to o***et any potential cash loss.

This AUS-A game is really starting to piss me off !!

- Can now see why the FTA coverage aren't happy - some really poor scheduling of a "nothing" game ...
- I mean the first 2 rounds of the BBL might be starved of players because of a nothing 3 day scratch match ... seriously are no state teams available !!

I might be getting older but to me the initial setup of our AUS-A team was an ODI team to showcase some young kids that couldn't break into the national team ... and the the Country supported them !!
- It got squashed because well hell some of these young kids weren't so bad after all and some in the national team players took umbrage ....
- Now it seems to have morphed into a 3 day game .. come on .... that is neither an ODI or Test scenario ....

Certainly weird scheduling.

The first game clashes with the T20I.

9 members of the Test Squad are part of the A Squad so they might even need extra players anyway , which clashes with Round 1/2 of the BBL.

No mention of a standby player for Mitchell Marsh.

I don't think they have even verified yet whether members of the ODI/T20 Squad will definitely be available for Round 1 of the Big Bash.

I guess the IPL and then the quarantine has mucked everything up.

They should have just played the ODI/T20 in the UAE.

Then Australia could have played Afghanistan in a test and India could have played Australia A.

Can't keep trying to play BIg Bash and Tests at the same time.

If CA spent as much time on perfecting the schedule as they did tweaking the rules etc ...

Hey guys,

Anyone know if the NZ squad for the T20s vs WI has been annouced? NZ are also slated to play 3 T20s vs Pakistan 18th-22nd December. Don't really follow NZ cricket but I assume there's a fairly high chance Munro & Milne get named in these squads. If they do, with the quarantine rules I guess we need to assume they wont be seen until the 2nd half of the tournament? If anyone has any info/thoughts on this would appreciate the insight :)
CricInfo now have the article and squads on their site

The other unknown with the Squads at the moment is if they get LRP's for the players in the Australia A Squad along as for those in the Australian Test Squad.

I guess we just deal with things as they arise.

far out

$ 100.00 short of my preferred starting team

so bloody annoying

EDIT

had to cull Big Billy

$ 12,800.00 in the Bank

Round 2 Trade in Targets = $ 494,200.00
Round 2 Trade out Targets = $ 507,700.00 could be tight

2 rounds worked out, 15 to go now the real fun begins :)

Well it depends how keen your are. I assume you are trying to calculated the points from last year using this years scoring method. If so then I had a quick look and the following site appears to have the ball by ball commentary for each game last year.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/scores/series/8044/season/2019/big-bash-league?view=results

You can get the dot balls from that. I was able to cut and paste the commentary data from the Thunder bowling innings of game 1 and with a bid of Excel magic work out the following.

View attachment 22827

It would require a bit of work to cut and paste all the data from each game into Excel but it is achievable. @nicohighscore may have a way of scraping the data off the website and that would make it much quicker.

If you would like to pursue this type of approach then let me know and I will help you through it.
I had a quick look, it might be doable but it requires quite a bit of work ...
