Had a look at Gilkes but not sure where he fits in batting wise ... and Billings looming on the radar ...

Not planning on holding a HOB Bat/Wkp for too long .. just enough to see me through at least 3 rounds ...
Gilkes/Holt will bat 5 , Billings might bat 4 , I guess Cutting comes in at 12th over or 14th over as per usual

Hales
Khawaja
Ferguson
Ross
Gilkes/Holt
Cutting

would be my guess

Agree you would ideally only want Handscomb/McDermott for 3-4 rounds before upgrading

My last memory of Gilkes was dropping a sitter but then they went on to win the match .... against PER ??

Might be wrong but recall him contributing to the win with the bat... so the potential might be there ...

I reckon he dropped S Marsh first or second ball , Marsh made 90 odd

Might have even been Gilkes debut

Was the night ferguson hit one of the best timed knocks I’ve seen in T/20. Was indeed Gilkes debut and he made 50+ I think.

ok

depends on what your plans are then

keep Carey as WK
trade Carey
Bairstow available
target Phillippe for DGR in Round 6 , target Banton for DGR in Round 8

I guess Round 4 you start getting Renegades/Sixers in TC is available , Tahir is available

Do you want Finch , Marsh , Nabi , Richo man ?

Has Roussow performed ?

Dwarshuis , Philippe

Is Abbott being released ?

How many of these players will you field if you still have Maxwell , Rashid , Short , Stoinis etc

how do you afford them all ?

Good questions, I'll be thinking about them.

I'm thinking Maxy will probably leave my team RD2, with no plans to bring back soon after.

Rashid may be gone after RD4.

Currently looking at this - don’t like the look of the keepers and Phillipe should open. Could backfire spectacularly. Start with 6 Stars and trade out 3 of them for Salt, Khan and Ingram hopefully. Don’t really like the look of the Strikers this year so happy to forgo a few in favour of Hobart players but if Nielsen and Scott play that’ll give me a lot of DGR players for rounds 1 and 2. Bench is awful but shouldn’t need it and I want Holt for loophole purposes. $19.2k ITB.

Scott is an interesting one ... if picked I'll grab him at the expense of a MELR/PER player given the squads will be out before they play the last game of round 1 .... but I guess squads are just that and no guarantee however I have a spot for him if the opportunity arises ... round 1 or 2 won't matter ....

One thing you should note is that from rounds 4-8, the thunder play first in all but one of those rounds. In round 1 you have a striker for a donut and then in round 3 you can use a star for donut.

So in the first 8 rounds... you would really only use Holt in rounds 2 and round 5 (this is in regards to cap loops). For the E loop, the way you have it set up makes Holt useless for round 1 due to order of games. For round 3 I guess you could use Holt but most would be using a stars player like Dunk for that.

So the question you need to ask yourself:
"Is having Holt for 2-3 rounds out of 8 really worth it or is it better to have a cash cow for those first 8 rounds?"

It might be better to just have a cash cow and then in round 9 you could deliberately trade in holt for loops from then on but by then you'd most likley have a donut from elsewhere.

But if you are still looking for a donut for the entire season, a Perth scorchers player might be better since they never play first in any of the 13 rounds.

Easy fix to me ... Nielsen to Bryant, Hughes etc

It helps that I can move him from wkp to bat if needed as well as loophole to start with. May look to turf him when the DGR’s aren’t as much of an issue.
