Hi Partner!
I think what it leads to is, there will need to be a focus in the early round of side trading the expensive players (even more than we might normally). If they are all over-priced, by even more than they usually are, then those with a fail will quickly lose value, and you get to the trade or hold cross road a lot quicker.
It also means the season will come down to those expensive early picks. The Coaches that get them right, will maintain value AND score the better points, the Coaches that get them wrong, fall behind in both points and team value. A dangerous position to find yourself in.
I think it drives teams to only have 1 or 2 of the most expensive players, with an eye on the Captain's role, and try milk any value in the mid and low priced players. That might sound very "yeah, isn't that what we have to do every year?!", but I think applies even more in this situation.
Very interesting. I was pondering yesterday (after @Herbie66 raised it, I think tongue somewhat hypothetically/tongue in cheek) that if Darcy Short did get demoted to batting at 5, you’d have to cut him immediately or he’d just be leaking cash like Boone’s business.

I think @Jim's Dim Sims suggested that picking cheaper/more value based DGR options would be important (eg Z Khan over Zampa, Ellis over Meredith) and it’s something I’ve been giving a fair bit of thought to. If I start a $120k player and he gets 50 I have a cash tailwind, but if a $180k player generates the same output, he’s going to be leaking cash as well. It could add up to a fair advantage if you can get some of these X vs Ys correct. Ellis over Meredith is one I’m prepared to have a go at, based on their price and Shield form (different format, but currently all we have to go on).

3 weeks or 3 rounds ?

If the latter wouldn't McDermott (similar price) possibly be a better option with a DGR in Round 2 ?
Rounds bud.

Already have McDermott in as WKP E, Dunk 🙄 on field, Bancroft on field in BAT and 105.5K in the kitty. Simples. I may change Dunk if he doesn't bat top 4.

A very good thing to look at .... so just running some numbers taking into account if every position say drops 6 points per game .... 12 points for a true DPP player and only looking at a few players that I expect to play the first 3 rounds ....

- Obviously lots of ifs and buts here and a few other variables to come into play ...

What I came up with after looking at Short, Maxwell, Stoinis and Zampa:

- If Short, Maxwell and Stoinis score 12 points less for each game than they ares PTA over 3 games could lose approx $15k in value (only approx 8k each though for 2 games)
- If Zampa scores 6 points less for each game than he is PTA over 3 games could lose approx $8k in value (only approx 4k though for 2 games)

Above edited after I discovered a slight error ....

Nicholas Pooran – Melbourne Stars

Could he be available for the BBL 10 Rd 1 double after all ?

Here’s a copy of the NZ/OZ travel bubble.............

“From Friday 16 October 2020 people from New Zealand are able to travel to New South Wales (NSW) and the Northern Territory (NT) without the need to enter mandatory quarantine, provided they have not been in a New Zealand COVID-19 hotspot in the past 14 days.

Currently there are no direct flights from New Zealand to the ACT however, under an exemption to the Returned Travellers Public Health Direction, those who have entered NSW from New Zealand by air can travel into the ACT by air or road without the need to quarantine, subject to the conditions outlined in the exemption.”

Nicholas Pooran plays his last T20 against NZ 30th Nov @ Bay Oval NZ. That’s 10x days until the start of the BBL 10 series.
No covid scares and he should/could be a round 1 starter I’m guessing from the above.

What am I missing?

Every article I’ve read suggests he will be available for six games across December and January with no mention of him being available from the start of the tournament.

Would be great to get some confirmation from the Stars. I’ve inboxed them on Messenger but not sure whether it’s monitored. Perhaps someone on here who has Twitter could pose the question?

"Pooran was only named in the T20 squad for three matches against New Zealand on November 27, 28 and 30, but has agreed to stay in New Zealand beyond those dates to play in two First-Class four-day matches which the West Indies A team will play against New Zealand A next, month."

"I’m just going over (to Australia) for six games. That is my availability. My first game is on December 26 and I fly across (to Australia) after that last First-Class game,” he said. “I made myself available for those two First Class games and I am sticking to it.”

Made some tweaks. I think im quite happy with this:

McDermott (Holt)

Short, Stoinis, Maxwell, Cutting, Ingram (Turner/ WEATHERALD)

Zampa, Faulkner, NCN, Christian, Stanlake (Wildermuth/ Tremain)
Good to see a different name in there with Cutting , I think we will see 6-7 players the same in most teams come Round 1 so it will come down to those POD onfield
