I thought a few teams played LRP'S from the start last season , Kerr & Manenti come to mind.
I think this is where people that are well prepared with the fixtures , Squads , OS arrivals etc etc will have a advantage to start with.
Information is out there , has been provided here multiple times all ready.
Chaos might reign when the Stars release their team for the first game and we suddenly realise CA hasn't released the white ball players for Round 1 😀......panic stations all round.

I feel as though Ahmad has great scoring potential but will only be here for 3 games while Tremain may not score as well but should play most games.
So I think I might do the following for round 1.
Ellis with the (E) on my BWL bench. If he scores enough then will use my Strikers player to loop and select Tremain who will be on bench without the (E).
If Ellis doesn’t score enough then I will select Ahmad on field and bypass Tremain.

Plus I think if you want both Short and Khan for their double you nearly need to start 1 or leave a sizable amount of cash on the bench to be able to get them both in for Rd 2.
There seems to be a lot of talk about loosing points, but at the end of the day trying to pick which players will be most disadvantaged could be a futile exercise.

Have considered it , I think it essentially comes down to Short v $ 62.5 player to 2 $ 125 k players and keeping about $ 50-60 k in the bank.
Think you need to then start at least 2 Strikers on the bench.
The problem then is if you want Short , Rashid & Siddle for Round 2 you probably need to trade out all of Stoinis , Maxwell , Zampa to make it happen.
Given their Bye in Round 3 , you could probably nearly get Stoinis back in Round 4.
It actually does create a stronger onfield team to start with.
Just then pray he makes a duck and doesn't bowl.
The way some are talking up Jacks as a specialist spinner amuses me , think Short has more chance of bowling 4 most games and Jacks only having 1-2.

I am not entirely convinced in Short yet. Hobart have a lot of batting and bowling options - if he didn't have a DGR round 2, would you start him at that price? Not sure that I would. He has to score as well as he did last year to maintain that price and even then that is still expected to be 6 pts less this year with the new scoring? Good luck.
Thing is I am not seeing a lot of other options for R2 who could meet his potential score that round. He is currently in my team, but not locked in. If he fails in R1, it'll be very interesting to see what people do.
Maxwell is the popular player I am more hesitant in. He is in 47% of all teams, but he was awful in the IPL. I'm not sure he's going to be worth spending $185K on for round 1, even if it is a DGR. Figure I need to choose at least one of these two to start - I am more confident in Short of the two, but I'll probably stick with the pack and start both.

I see Jacks as a guy who will be used in games where the opposition openers are deemed weaker against spin.
Hughes for the Sixers will have spin used against him for sure, so I’m confident Jacks will bowl the 2nd over (faulkner will bowl the 1st). After that is pot luck and will depend on the flow of the game.
Against the Strikers, I don’t think Jacks would open against Weatherald and Salt as Salt enjoys the spinners.
Obviously this is purely speculative but I think we’ll see more Short overs in the double round and more Jacks overs in the 1st round.
