This would be very interesting. Stoinis is a no-brainer for captaincy round 1.

Maxwell, not so much. I think I’d lean towards Zampa.

It could shake things up from the start of the competition.

I like the Stars bowlers going through the Heat , but can then see Hales/Khawaja/Ferg enjoying themselves at Manuka as well.

I need Short to pump out a 130+ in Game 1 and then find a donut ideally 😀

Sounds like a decision is being made on M Marsh Friday , I guess a lot will depend if the Test Squad is still assembling on the 9th December and how many of them stay back to play the second "A" game and if they need additional players.

Just a reminder that Maxwell scored 273 in a DGR last year. Season defining stuff! In this hypothetical I’d take the punt on Maxy over Zampa despite his form of late.

Wonder how much Allen , Cottrell , Hetmyer , Pollard , Thomas etc are asking for a short term (3 match) contract , come to Australia from New Zealand before going to Bangladesh.

Maybe they do play Luke Wright for the first 2 games until Maddinson is back.

DreRuss certainly would fit in.

They could also be waiting for clarification from the WI about the Bangladesh series (inspection team going to Bangladesh eom to make a decision)

If Pooran has signed for 6 games that is Dec 26 , 29 , Jan 2 , 4 , 7 , 11.

Initial reports I have seen have WI arriving in Bangladesh Jan 7.

Wonder how "serious" Universe Boss injury is to keep him out of the LPL.
