My take would be that Vince is not a good enough player to want to set and forget him. Looks like his prior season averages have been 35-50 based on what’s available on SC, and he only scores 26 runs per game across his T20 career, which might be a 30s SC average.
Christian is obviously aging but he has a 57 and a 69 season based on what’s visible on SC. He may not prove to be a quality keeper, but I think he’s a much better chance of it given his role and history of premium scoring. DPP is also handy!

Sounds like he is still with the white ball squad so they are probably hoping he can play as a batsmen at least.
Be nice if he does reappear for the T20I.
I guess he only bowled 2 overs last season and still managed to average what he did , so any extra bowling could be considered a bonus.
Does make the C choice interesting though if he played the first game and was "managed" for the second game.

It would certainly be reassuring if he played the T20I.
Your description of bowling as essentially providing the cream is how I was thinking about it, albeit that not many specialist batsmen can average 65 SC (as your recent stats obviously confirmed!) so I would be inclined to bet he won’t repeat that if he’s just batting. Even averaging 50 would be a great effort (Finch, Wright, Hales, Marsh, Webster and Marsh the only BAT only players to manage it last season) and that’s a fall of >20%.
The risk of a down game is also obviously greater if he just bats, so he’d be more attractive as an upgrade target (either ex, or post, his DGR).
I will still start him as a top premium in a DGR side if he’s playing purely as a batsman, but then I think he’s a trade out candidate. Maybe he goes and Maxy stays, as was referred to earlier.

CA will announce when the ODI/T20I'S players are available to play.
Fortunately the Heat , Stars & Thunder are based in Canberra to start the BBL so their shouldn't be a issue in the players getting their.
The other 5 teams are all based in Tasmania to start.
I guess the concern will be how some of these players are coping "mentally" if they have been in UK hub - > IPL hub/Adelaide quarantine - > Shield hub - > ODI/T20 hub etc etc and if they need a break to freshen up.
The second Australia A game clashes with Round 1/2 so again CA will make a announcement as soon as that game is finished as to when they are available to play BBL.

Be interesting trying to get him as a upgrade , suspecting most will be wanting 6-8 Renegades/Sixers for Round 6 so the focus will be on them Round 4 - 6.
