216 , 142 , 90 , 82 & 59 in Grade cricket this season he might get a game.
They need bowlers though so would have thought that's unlikely.

Milenko a warm favourite to make the initial XI.

Pfeffer could be named as the 'sub' though and if that's the case then he would be too risky a pick if wanting him for loopholes.

My understanding is either player not named in the XI (but in the squad of 13) can be the sub? Depending on the team's requirements.

Once Bryant or Heazlett fails again , they don't have any other batsmen on their list , so given his grade form could be a distinct possibility.

They generally play 5+ keeper + 5 bowlers so might need to look into their bowlers some more.

I remember last season thinking a bowling machine would be more effective than Milenko when he did bowl for the Hurricanes.

The Heat are missing a lot of their first choice bowlers though so I think he gets a few overs.

The wording on the Heat’s website makes me think he is preferred to Wood and Pfeffer. He has the BBL experience over them.

I think a lot just see Holt's price and go yes please without thinking it through.

The biggest concern I have with having a non playing bench keeper is if my onfield keeper misses a game unexpectedly and I have already used my trades so end up with a donut.

Problem with that though is Dunk , Gilkes , Gotch , Holt , Nielsen , Peirson all have questionable JS themselves so may not help if they are not playing.

Could "piggy back" them with Banton/Billings/Carey/Fletcher just in case but then not sure any of those will be Top scoring averaging Bats anyway.

McDermott is probably a waste of $$$ to leave at WK2 all season in case I need cover at all.

A couple of $ 42k bowlers I am keen on (if named Round 1) but may only play a few games so not going to make much money.

Otherwise just pay $ 62.5 k for a Scorcher from the start to use as a VC/C loop

Doesn't help WK2 though.

If they announce Stoinis is out for Round 1 , all the planning will be thrown out anyway.

A week to sort it all out.
I either wont be going Holt for this same reason, or will take him in with 2 other playing WK for the first few rounds. I can't i need to carry a non player for VC loophole until Rd4, Rd 1 unlimted trades, rd 2 C must come from game 1, rd 3 C likely from Strikers, i'll worry about looping then. I have a general plan but don't usually look much more than a couple of rounds ahead.

I was going to go Nielsen but will likely change my mind.

Will still have a Striker to use as captain Round 1 if necessary.

Round 2 outright Captain on Short.

Round 3 will be Rashid Khan with a Stars playing able to use.

Round 4 take stock again.

5 bat + Peirson + Bartlett , Laughlin , Milenko , Wildermuth + ???

Cooper will bowl one , Lawrence can bowl a bit.

Time to load up Stars batsmen with that attack.
