I read that somewhere a few weeks ago , wouldn't surprise me if quite a few of the ODI/T20 Squad were actually given 7-10 days off before joining their BBL sides.
The X-mas / New Year period is the one that concerns me the most and I totally get where the affected players are coming from on this one .... O/S players coming in no problems as that is what they signed up for ....
I think the comp is fine. Just too long and interrupted. Imagine the quality if Australian national players were involved more. Add in 2-4 NZ teams and shorten the season to playing each other once. Washed out games to be played at a later date.

I am certainly no expert on the Covid-19 or the bio security hub arrangements but maybe they let players families join the Tasmania & Canberra hub (haven't read anything about this) similar to what the AFL allowed.
Some of these guys have been in bubbles since the England tour and being constantly surrounded by team mates/support staff 24/7 with no release would do my head in as would being confined to hotels.
Yes the hotels are nice and all that and they are getting well paid (the Australian Internationals) but I think they still need a week or so relief.

Tough comparison as Professional cricketers aren’t like professional AFL players. They travel way more overseas and for longer. AFL players, previously, rarely went more than a couple of weeks before seeing loved ones. Cricketers could go for 2-3 months at a time.
