Pretty happy after last night, got the skipper selection right in going with Finchy. Bird scored well yet again, Big Show performed, and my only disappointment was Murali who got just 12 points. Still a bit annoyed at trading out Cameron White but I would still rather lock in Katich's 95, and have money in the kitty which is what I want coz I might have a couple of guys out when the ODI series starts.

Missed finch, but happy getting what Maxwell did as C. Thought I would be getting 2 x 0 for a while there with him not getting a bat!
If Maddinson, Bopara, Hales can do well, my lowest score could be Vettori's 32!

Only 3k odd peeps in it. Was 11th at the beginning of the test and am third today - gets updated each night. I was ill on Jan2 and 3rd with stomach virus - didn't get to change my team - would have probably dropped Harrison and ... well, lucky I was sick as a dog. lol. Would be amusing to win it without changes. I guess being third is the equivalent of being about 300th in SC. So much less fun.

Anyone see broad hand his wide brimmed hat to someone in the crowd as he left the field? Good gesture, almost makes up for not walking

Any real cricket fan that watches games close enough will know Broad in general is a good guy that plays game in right spirit. Whilst it did not impress me he had the audacity to stay at crease in England when he was clearly out and just should have gone, he's done plenty of other good things to overlook a moment of cricket craziness. At same time, any crap he's has copped because of it, I got no sympathy for him...lol...

I like the way he bowls and bats. He is one of few Poms I think has some real ticker and talent and decent personality. The Andersons and Pietersons of their team only have one of those traits of the three....

Like Stokesy, Botham, Goughy I think he is good for cricket in England that is usually too stuffy and conservative for it's own good.

Cook gone. If he was the captain of the first fleet I'm sure they would have become shipwrecked.

Lyon 60 runs and not dismissed once. Only needed to go out with 2+ more runs to lead the averages!

Of course Cook elected to give Haddin easy singles to get a player they never dismissed in Melbourne.

Give him a promotion up the order, Siddle can't make a run and Gazza is a handy bat I reckon.

I never really liked Haddin until this series but I'm a huge fan now. There would be a huge gap between Haddin and the next best.

Good luck mate. Would definitely be a laugh if you win by missed trades as the other guys around you have probably been up every night trying to find an edge.

I wish they would stop firing it way down leg, the around the wicket line is alright but just need to straighten it up a touch coz we aren't going to get him caught down leg again when it is way out of reach.

One day, turned up to our cricket game and find out our wicketkeeper is not playing and we had no back up keeper.
I can't remember whom started off keeping but they were not much chop at it. I was one of the main bowlers and bowling outswing having good catchers in slips and keeping is what I need. Anyway, at some drinks break, I had done a fair stint of bowling but don't think I was in the zone that day and captain said he wanted to change keepers and a few of the idiots suggested why not I give it a try. Having never done it before I'm not sure why they wanted me to have a go but because no one else gave me much confidence they would be good at it, I just decided to say yes, as needed a spell from bowling for probably an hour anyway.
Then there was a problem soon after and our side did not have many other decent bowlers and captain brought on one guy that normally not a bowler but he at least had some pace in his bowling. Well the idiot had no control or line and I was left trying to stop his wayward bowling go for numerous byes. The ground we were playing on that day was one of worst I remember for outfield. Anyway, one wayward delivery I tried to stop going for 4 byes way down legside. As I put the glove out to stop it, was not going to reach it, hit a bad spot on ground and somehow bounced up and whacked me square on top of scone of nose.

Next thing I know, was swearing my head off and threw the keeping gloves about 50 metres away...lol.. funny looking back... I remember a few balls before this, thinking to myself, why did I agree to this. keeping is boring....lol... funnier still blood was pouring out of my nose like a tap all over the whites and I was too full of adrenalin to feel much pain. Just ****ed off the bowler was crap and why did I allow myself to be in this situation.
Some of guys did not like sign of blood. The whole thing was funny in recall.
One of my mates drove me to hospital and on the way I remember him saying, "can you please stop bleeding, I'm going to have a car accident". He did not like the sign of blood and felt he might faint....lol...

The fun of B grade club cricket..

Anyway, keeping is for mugs, that is moral of this story and breaking a nose is no fun.

I find it funny that Carberry thought it was necessary to wave to the dressing room for a replacement bat lol.

Surely my housemate and I weren't the only ones to send 100 messages each to that phone number
