Has anyone spotted any value in a FORWARD from ROUND 9, the forwards look the most difficult during the bye rounds
Not value but from an early draw/useful bye perspective I am tempted by JJK from West Coast

If you are a a gambler I think the round 9 value is with players like Higgins at 250k, Yarran at 350k if Malthouse has any wonderful ideas for him. Either of those guys could score ridiculously well or be an epic SC season ending fail...most likely the latter!

There seem to be a few lower end r9 options in the fwds like honeychurch - hopefully he has played 2 games just before r10, lamb, boyd, garlett but I guess they could be upgraded by the bye anyway

Hunter M/F at $285k would be my choice or maybe Crameri who is expected to have a run through the mids this year and will also kick goals. Could turn into a quasi keeper.

Or, and gosh I must be crazy, but I always see upside in Waite and Mitch Robinson...lol. Similar price to Crameri though who i'd probably prefer over them but always see potential in these 2.

Missy Higgins is the obvious one. If he has a preseason without breaking anything,.. with risk comes reward.

looking at Waite's scores though - and take out any injury affected games and he is VALUE.
Obviously an injury prone player, but her is a gun, could be worth a punt.

We're all going crazy hahaha. I've always been a fan of Waite, gun but just doesn't play often enough. Higgins, always promises, and always disappoints...and doesn't play often enough either.

One guy who does play often but I don't think i've seen mentioned is Roo of the Nick variety. Favourable round 10 bye and favourable draw.

Massive numbers last year 103.1 DT / 105.1 SC which is right up there for a forward and was very consistent.
2 x 150s
3 x 130s
1 x 120s
2 x 110s
1 x 100s
5 x 90s
5 x 80s
2 x 70s

Saints play Melb and GWS in rounds 1 and 2 so if he starts like last year (first 7 games @ 120 average), coaches will have a very handy POD.

IDIG (or anyone else) - is Hunter going to get full games or be sub prone?

I looked at NRoo, but like last year (where I admit I was wrong) I don't like him as a choice - a) his knees will go out at some point and he isn't getting any younger, b) his mid field supply isn't going to be as good as last year with the loss of NDS, c) he looks fully priced atm, d) the Saints going to struggle a lot this year.

I took the big Dish out of my team, but he is back there now ;)

Hunter will be rotated I would think. Both as the sub and out of the side.

NRoo is just about the best super premium option (apart from danger and dusty), but im avoiding. Too risky and injury prone for me.

I'm resisting him too. If we don't get him round 1, may aswell not get him then.. as that is where he verses melb and gws and will be overpriced

From the injuries thread on Faz.

Meanwhile, the Pies are in no hurry to rush Alex Fasolo back into the full training.

Fasolo's 2013 ended in round five due to surgery for a navicular stress fracture.

"He's made steady progress and we’re not fast tracking him at all," Eade said of the 21-year-old forward.

"We're just going to take our time with it, but he’s ticked every box so far, so we’re pleased with his progress."

Absolutely agree, started with Roo last season as a bit of a flat track bully for the first half of the season. Worked out well enough that i kept him all season. With no Cox, Nic Nat and Rockliff as DPPs up forward, he starts off as the second most expensive forward and is now 31 years old. If his NAB cup is decent then i will probably lock him in, but at the moment i'm not sure.

N. Roo vs Dusty Martin?
Martin everyday of the week for mine. Roo at 31, is on the decline and playing for a team that looks to be going backwards vs Martin at 23 going into his prime and playing for a team that maybe top 4. Martin should average 105.

Roo's last 3 season averages have been (2011) 87, (2012) 96 and (2013) 105... That seems to be a steady rise and not a decline at all. If Roo stays fit, i am confident he can still average 100-105 this season.

Has Motlop been discussed?
Great player and I think he'll have an excellent season, but with Pavlich at the same price I'm not sure I'd risk picking him. I do think he'd make a great POD though.

As Nk said, he would be a geat POD. Just looked it up and he is only 22, so it COULD be a breakout season for him. I think its the year for him, but I'm not willing to take a risk on it. =/

I'm not brave. Haha

For me it would be Martin first and Roo as a luxury, in addition to Danger. It's a lot of coin to be forking out for 3 forwards (when you could get mids) but they could be a great early point of difference if Roo can go massive against Melbourne and GWS.
