That's interesting then if Pooran does leave after next game and they only want to play 4 specialist bowlers they are then :-

Stoinis
Spiceman
Cartwright
Maxwell
Maddinson (injury concern)

2 of Dunk , Gotch , Larkin

Fair enough then didn't hear Maxwell's comments.

I am a big believer in flexibility though especially in T20 cricket so never believe batting orders or if a team has 5 bowlers they all just bowl 4 each.

All about adapting to the game situation as it presents itself.

Very curious to see how they handle their OS situation with Rauf arriving this week.

They may well go 3 + Zampa and share the 5th between Maxwell & Stoinis.

Hatcher will be stiff to miss out when NCN returns.

Baffled they signed Zahir and won't play him so maybe they go 2 + 2 then one of NCN/Stanlake misses out.

Whether they stick solidly to that every game remains to be seen especially given Cartwright & Maddinson are options as well.

So much flexibility.

Might have to Tweet Maxy b4 each game and get the over breakdown from him 😉

Did he mention anything in the telecast why Zahir missed out on playing ?
He didn't mention anything in the coverage about Zahir but my guess is he was left out to shore up the batting a little. Zampa/Zahir + 2 pace bowlers is possibly too spin heavy with Maxi likely to need to bowl 3 of the other 4 overs, but going Zx2 and 3 pace bowlers means the batting depth is pretty dire. Not having NCN massively upsets the team balance more than just his bowling skills as he's handy with the bat too, but so far none of Hatcher/Stanlake/Rainbird/Morris etc have shown they can be relied on for runs (granted some of them haven't really had the opportunity).
Also worth keeping in mind that as long as they keep persisting with Spiceman opening they are an additional batsman down, so that puts the squeeze on guys like Zahir even more. I'd love to see them shake it up, open with Stoinis & Cartwright and put Spiceman down to 6 (if he hadn't taken 2 great catches yesterday I'd say drop him completely!)

Surprised Spiceman wasn't sitting next to Paul on the plane back to the West Indies to be honest.

Lose Pooran and their batting suffers even further , playing at least 2 batsmen each game who shouldn't be in the side.

Very ordinary batting lineup if both Maxwell & Stoinis fail in the same game together.

Interesting selections coming up for them and what balance they go with.

Totally agree! It's hard to win games when only 4 guys can bat. Been the problem for years though.. if Stoinis or Maxi doesn't go large they can rarely post a defensible score. Doesn't help that Dunk was a big money signing that has been completely useless...

Forgot to add , totally agree Cartwright should be opening.

He & Stoinis were developing well last season until Cartwright broke his hand (or finger)

Yet next door Fraser-McGurk & Harvey can't get regular games.

Mid season draft/trade like the IPL makes sense

Depending on the Sams situation he certainly will be high on the consideration list.

If I replace Davies with Khawaja not sure I want all of their Top 3 batsmen though.

Depending on Thursdays weather forecast , might not be getting anymore Heat players either.

Time to research some Scorchers I think.
Am thinking of just bringing in Lynn, even if one game is washed out, because his team is doing well, no much pressure on his shoulders as other players are contributing and he’s back opening and did time the ball well in the last match and hasn’t made a huge impact yet in the tournament, a quick fire ton is around the corner is my feel.

Sams 62 C:confused: ( missed opportunity)
Short 9:mad:
Hales 71:)
Milne 7
Khawaja 10
Stoin 132
Maxi 23

I need to be different so I’m backing Renshaw to beat Bryant’s 35

I was top 300 after R1 then I dropped 3000 spots and since then I haven’t gone slightly down the 4000th

Where is the reset button
At least it’s nice to see a large amount of SCS members doing so well

Awesome, thanks Professor I was just about to ask that. I wonder how much lead time we would need to know if the whole game gets washed out. DNP VS a 0 and losing cash offers up 2 different trade routes.
Just remember that regardless of if/when a toss is held, SC locks out at the scheduled start time even if the game hasn't started. It'll be enough time to tell if a game is significantly shortened, yes, but not enough to know if it won't go ahead at all.

One thing to flag (to you and perhaps others) is that players typically lock out at the scheduled start time, not the actual start time.

This means we will probably need to make decisions based on whatever info we have shortly before play is scheduled - ie we can’t wait to see how long the rain lasts.
