Any consensus on whether Cutting becomes a viable pick with Sams out? Bowled 1 and 4 overs when he was missing last time but if Doggett is brought in maybe not much changes. I am going with a plan to skip Philippe, McDermott and Wade (keeping Billings at WK) even though I can afford them all and bringing in all rounders. Thinking Christian, Head and Neser but Cutting also seems like it could be a good shout.

Any thoughts?

Personally I'd like to see a team before making a call on that, but I think it's more likely Cutting will be a 6th bowling option rather than 5th. I think the game he bowled four overs was in Perth? I suspect Adelaide will take spin better but I could very easily be wrong.

I am going to cave in and bring DC back this round

I agree on the DC vs Cutting debate. The sixers always seem to want to give DC the ball. Whereas the thunder might just utilise the extra spinner and only bowl Cutting if they are out of options.

It's interesting , just looking at @Tails tables coming into this Round 25 players are averaging 50+

includes Faulkner (inj) , Sams (inj) , Mujeeb , RK19 , Holder & Wood

Of the 25 :-

Bat = 3
Bat/WK = 3
Bowl = 13
Bat/Bowl = 6

I guess the concern with bowlers is if they go wicketless and concede more than 8 RPO (if they Bowl 3 or more) they are then relying on dot balls for points (and any luxury fielding involvements + batting)

Bat/Bowl are Sams (injured) , Maxwell , Washington , Holder (gone) , Wildermuth , Stoinis

Obviously the unknown is if the 9 Test Squad members play how many of them go 50+

I also think Thunder might go back to 3 spinners in their Xl over Doggett/Tremain.

Did I just hear that CA had cancelled the BBL games scheduled for 26/01/2021? Was only half listening to the news update, lol

Edit: When I say cancelled, I mean re-scheduled?

Tough call but I'd probably lean towards Fawad.. seemed to bowl quite well on the marvel track the other night and outside of a 14 point score vs the Thunder in round 8 he has a reasonably good scoring floor. Might come down to how well the Hurricanes play spin.. I think Mujeeb took 5fa against them though so maybe spin is king!
Thanks for your thoughts!

My gut feeling was to hold Fawad too as spinners seem to have done OK at Marvel so far. His Wrong-Un has proved pretty successful.

Yeap. Would think Dwarshius takes Bird's spot. Abbott may get Pope's spot. Moses may have a bowl too.
AO , MCG , MCG be surprised if they didn't start 2 specialist spinners in the XI personally.

X-Factor further complicates things.

Bird would be unlucky to miss.

Abbott , Ball , Bird , Brathwaite , Christian , Dwarshuis , Pope , SOK certainly don't all fit with Philippe , Hughes , Vince , Henriques & Silk.

Rotation of the quicks for 3 rounds , wait and see I guess.
