Anyone considering Draper as a POD to Preuss? An extra 75K but probably more upside
The Lads a big unit, and is one on watch for pre-season. Another preseason in the rear view will only help. Only Phillips as competition and should get the gig as sole ruck.?

UTD made a good point a few post back. Can Draper average 100+ to after round 14 bye.??And if you choose to start Draper who do you spend the extra coin on.?

I have a team ready with Grundy/Draper, BUT not starting Gawn&Grundy is a huge risk.

If u need an example for a 350k player to make money/become keeper just look at Jayden Short. Only once over 500k and he averaged 93 by round 7 just to get 100k price increase.

Ended up 15th on average as well so almost would have made a decent D6.

Wasn't Ridley's starting price also in the $ 300,000.00's last season ?

2 mid pricers becoming keepers

I think I’ll run both Cripps and Heppell. Question for me will be whether to take a Fyfe, Neale or Jelly type versus a breakout mid type like Walsh, Green or Rowell. I struggle picking breakout mids though so am unlikely to go down the breakout route. Cripps over Walsh seems a no brainer if Cripps is fit and playing preseason games.
I've got them all @Bomber18 o_O. Current mids Neale, Macrae, Fyfe, Walsh, Cripps, Heppell, rook, rook. Hearing mixed reports on Heppell though. Read somewhere he was not going to be ready for Round 1 then I hear he got through a full training session and is okay to go. Will need to wait till closer to rd 1.

Anyone have any thoughts on Zak Butters as a high mid-priced forward?

Not expecting massive things but he's averaged 60 and then 87 in his first two seasons and has been training more with the mids this preseason and is apparently looking very good at training.

Could be a good option to have over Heeney given Heeney's injury concerns.

I'm thinking he could be a 95+ avg player this season, not very cheap but looks to me to the best breakout candidate at that price.

Just on the Ziebell playing half back I found a NM members Q&A session online dated Nov 30 and someone asked this very question. And Noble responded as per below.

No, look, I think he can. How long he plays it for... but look, he's an experienced campaigner. I believe that he sees the game really well. There's no reason why he couldn't drop in there for a period of time. I think one of the earlier questions was, what are we going to work on with some of these guys? That's an example of the older crew being a little bit open to some of those other areas. And look, if it doesn't work, mate, you put it away, but it may work for a period of time and then allow us to develop another person or another young guy in the half-forward, or in the mid. So that'll be something that we'll look at as we go.

In another question about where Josh Walker (whom I do not know that much about) would play, Noble answered as per below. Interesting for anyone running with Goldy.

It'd be unfair of me to say where that is. He probably has a preference, but he understands that there may be a time where we just need an additional support, an experienced campaigner to go and take another forward and help Cam (Zurhaar) or Larkey out down forward if we need be. The other thing I'd say is we may well look at playing two rucks as well. That may help.

Just wondering if anybody has looked at Brody Grundy's average in losing games. I know the ruck match ups matter more but Grundy does a lot of work around the ground and Collingwood have just about the toughest opening 5 games in 2021 I reckon.
B Grundy:
2018 Wins Avg: 130.73 from 15 (1/15 below 100, 9/15 120+)
2018 Losses Avg: 129.86 from 7 (2/7 below 100, 4/7 120+)
2019 Wins Avg: 131.4 from 15 (2/15 below 100, 11/15 120+)
2019 Losses Avg: 127 from 7 (1/7 below 100, 5/7 120+)
2020 Wins Avg: 121.89 from 9 (1/9 below 100, 4/9 120+)
2020 Losses Avg: 119.86 from 7 (1/7 below 100, 4/7 120+)

Wins Avg since 2018: 128.95 from 39 (4/39 below 100, 24/39 120+)
Losses Avg since 2018: 125.27 from 21 (4/21 below 100, 13/27 120+)

Butters could fill Brad Eberts Role. Im thinking the same 95+ in that roll sounds about right.

Ebert played predominantly in the forward line this season.
