The only forward premium I am happy to pick with any confidence is Marshall - very tempted to just take him & take advantage of all the bargains in the 260K-200K range (Brown/Ziebell/Daniher/Impey). Sure there is much risk attached with the past injury history of Daniher especially but educated gambles are sometimes required in this game.

Demons captain Max Gawn told Garry and Tim on SEN Breakfast that Brown has been in good pre-season form at his second club.

“He kicked six in an intra-club quarter,” he said.

“Yeah, he kicked six, I think he was playing on no one.

“No, he plays really well. He’s coming across from North and he’s brought a lot for us.

I was going to avoid Brown no matter what, as he is a key forward, but 6 in a quarter (even in an intra-club) at that price has me a bit interested. Might have to keep an eye on him...

Note to self, repeat endlessly until it sinks in: Don't be tempted by key forwards, don't be tempted by key forwards...

And don’t forget SPP!
Houston maybe in the mix also?
Didn't forget him , he generally is in the next rotation.

Like most teams they generally run anywhere between 10-15 players in their , but watching every game for the last few years you get a very good idea who the main ones are the majority of the time.

Anyone else considering Jye Caldwell?

Essendon has a specific role for Jye Caldwell in 2021, the 20 year old was traded to the Bombers last week after 2 years at the Giants.

Caldwell was originally selected in the 2018 AFL Draft at pick 11, he played 11 games at the Giants.

The Essendon coaching staff recruited Caldwell to fill a specific need as an inside midfielder, he will now join the centre bounce rotation of Dylan Shiel, Andrew McGrath, Zach Merrett & Darcy Parish for the 2021 season.

They’ve said to me that I’ll be playing that inside-mid role that I’ve been wanting to play for the last couple of years.”

They’ve also said I could be playing different positions as well just to be more versatile, but they’re honing in on that inside-mid role for me.” Jye Caldwell on talks with Bombers Snr coach Ben Rutten & GM of List & Recruiting Adrian Dodoro.

Caldwell (Age: 20) has averaged 12.5 Disposals, 3.1 Marks & 3.8 Tackles from 11 career games, he played 9 games in 2020.

Would love to hear the bomber boys on here about how his training is going/ confirm that he is in the midfield group, will be playing in the engine room.

Priced at 348K Fwd/Mid - could he be the Andrew Brayshaw of 2021?

Brayshaw was probably my best starting selection last year starting price of about 350K - kept him all year, averaged just over 101.

If you can nail a mid price selection, have them become a premium/ keeper it is a huge bonus. Inside mid role would be ideal to maximise his scoring ability

Dammit. I'm already MPM without another one!!! I think you just sold me. But surely Taranto is a better pick, anyways off to the X v Y thread I go.

Watching very closely, currently don't have that price bracket in my side but if I do he's right up there on the list. Poor Zach is gonna end up on a wing again so all their one dimensional inside mids can lose the contest again :ROFLMAO:

He is my F2 currently

Marshall at F1 with Brown/Ziebell/Daniher/Impey at F3 to F6

What could possibly go wrong? :p:LOL:

Not for me still only 11 games into his career. Probably can see him in that 80-85 range and for 90k less you have Ben Brown,Ziebell who can produce similar.

Tend to think he falls into the 80-85 range at best myself. Has had injury troubles all through his juniors and in his first year at GWS, and his scoring in the juniors (and stats) was nothing exceptional compared to others in his draft. I think he becomes a pretty good footballer, but maybe a 100-105 type SC scorer down the line. I'd have to see a fair bit in the preseason game to suggest to me that he's a better pick than taking a punt on the cheaper FWD types in Daniher, Brown, Ziebell.

I'll be grabbing Marshall just from rd1 as cover if Gawn/Grundy misses. Likely to have a donut if you have Treacy at R3. Is a few R/F rookies but Thilthorpe at 203k is the most likely to feature. Concussion rule changes is now an automatic 1 week off so could happen to the big 2 in say rd 2 or 3 and cover what others may not.

Is Sidebottom overpriced? I feel he has more upside than Dunkley...
