2020 was a difficult SuperCoach year for many, and indeed a difficult year overall with what was happening around the world and in our own backyard. But that is now in the past.

Get excited people… The new SuperCoach season is nearly upon us, and we start this mad circus once again.

Have to acknowledge a few people before we begin, Firstly @Impromptu who gives us this great community to discuss our passion. It truly is a great group of people here.

And secondly @Rowsus for all his tireless work setting up the leagues. I know it’s always a much anticipated moment waiting for his annual release of League Allocations.

Thanks to you both.

Whilst we may have lost the great one @THCLT to the PL2 this season… I’ll “Borrow” his excellent words in welcoming everyone to the 2021 SCS Premier League…

A BIG WARM WELCOME to all coaches, old and new, to what should be another engrossing instalment of SCS Premier League for season 2021. Our league is not only 'Premier' by name, but also by reputation. The pillar and strength of our league is not merely reliant on the overall achievement of our high ranking coaches, rather it's the camaraderie which one experience which differentiate our league from the rest.

Thanks to @Rowsus hard work, below are the 18 deserving coaches who'll get that 'Premier' league experience for season 2021.

SCS 2021.jpg

Unfortunately, we farewell @Creeker @Erich1036 @IDIG @Maso and @THCLT as they will be joining the SCSP2 league.

Taking their places will be returning SCS PL coaches of yester years in @Darkie @Deeman1 and @Philzsay (all from SCSP2) and inaugural SCS PL coaches in @Diabolical and @Beg2Differ (also both from SCSP2).

So without further ado, let the banter begins...

And now for (Hopefully) a bit of fun, I present the...

2021 SCS Premier League Odds

$2.75 - Bomber18
No surprise to see @Bomber18 once again top the preseason odds. The 2016 Premier League Winner, added another trophy to the cabinet in 2020, beating Ben’s Beasts in the Grand Final to become the only 2-Time Premier League Champion. Fantastic bounce back season after a disappointing 2019 Finals campaign. The champ is the clear benchmark of this league and the one all strive to beat.
Form: 114 (2020), 55 (2019), 228 (2018), 3,775 (2017), 530 (2016)

$3.90 – Ben’s Beasts
The 2018 Premiers bounced back in ferocious fashion in 2020 after a shocker in 2019, Coach Ben only just scraped into the finals in 7th spot… But that was all he needed to show the world just how good he is storming his way to the Grand Final. He couldn’t claim another title, but @Ben's Beasts did put a big target on his back and I’m sure everyone will be stepping it up against the former Champ this season trying to keep this dangerous coach from even making the finals.
Form:
1,092 (2020), 8,440 (2019), 664 (2018), 20,758 (2017), 14,364 (2016)

$4.25 - Goodie's Guns
The Guns fired blanks in the 2019 PL Finals series, but the off-season review of 2020 can only be judged as a complete success after Coach Tim came storming back in 2020 to make the Prelim. There was no shame in going down to the eventual champ in Bomber18. The @Goodie's Guns proved their credentials as one of this sites best coaches and he is well and truly back, and looking to blow everyone away in 2021.
Form: 1,707 (2020), 253 (2019), 402 (2018), 7,008 (2017), 1,940 (2016)

$5.30 – Philzsay
A former Premier League coach returning home. Coach Phil took the demotion on the chin in 2020… And then went and delivered a knock-out blow the opposition taking out the maiden Premier League 2 title. The win and return to form has seen this old-timer come back home to the Premier League chock full of confidence and with a puffed out chest. All the coaches have taken notice of @Philzsay and his victory and circled the date of their match-up in the calendar hoping to knock off the newly crowned Champ.
Form: 328 (2020), 38,653 (2019), 1,811 (2018), 46,571 (2017)

$6.00 - Courtesans
The ever tough @Courtesans gained a legion of fans after his stunning 2019 season. The People’s Champ, backed up with another good season, however he would have been pretty upset at missing the finals in 2020 by just 0.1%. Coach Keith would have spent the off-season looking for that extra bit of effort from his troops. I’m sure the training sessions where hard and long. I’d expect Coach Keith to once again be in the mix in 2021. Good value bet in my opinion.
Form: 1,707 (2020), 1,250 (2019), 5,364 (2018), 36,407 (2017), 755 (2016)

$6.25 - Jaca

After a stunning 2019 Finals campaign where Coach Jason etched his name into the Premier League Hall of Fame claiming his maiden Premier League crown… 2020 was a disappointment failing to notch up enough wins to make the finals, joining that illustrious group of coaches that wins a premiership & then fails to even make finals the next year. Was winning his maiden title enough for the @jaca? Or will the fire return to the belly in 2021? I’m tipping the latter.
Form: 2,565 (2020) 2,358 (2019), 5,112 (2018), 4,020 (2017), 1,400 (2016)

$7.50 - madmunza
A recent Champions League participant, Coach Matt’s 2020 season was neither a success nor a failure, A very consistent team, @madmunza made the finals in his first year in the PL, but failed to fire a shot and lost in the first week of finals. I suspect they slept a little on just how competitive the Premier League is, and the quality of coaches… And will definitely need to show a little more in 2021. Very capable of winning it all, I expect a much stronger showing this season.
Form:
1,782 (2020) 2,919 (2019), 178 (2018), 4,909 (2017), 2,996 (2016)

$8.00 – doc ron
Whilst 2019 didn’t quite go to plan for Coach David and his Badboys. 2020 was a great return to form for @doc ron. Just percentage off a top 4 spot and the double chance, he should feel no shame in losing first week of the finals to eventual Runner-Up Beasts FC. It was a stunning season from a man who loved by all... the man you call when you need a beer or two. I tipped him as a big improver in 2020, and he didn’t let me down… I’m expecting even greater things in 2021.
Form: 1,875 (2020), 14,443 (2019), 36,332 (2018), 20,872 (2017)

$8.75 - Tails
It’s been a rapid rise for TailsPower. From Div 5 to the PL in such short time, Coach Adrian’s team only just scraped into the finals by 0.1%... But once there was impressive losing in the Semi-Final to the eventual champs. Coach Adrian found out just how big a step up from Div 5 it was, and is another who would be seeking the extra 1 percenter's from his troops over the off-season to lock in a top 4 spot and potentially even more. Will watch @Tails with keen interest. (And might throw a few dollars on).
Form:
3,440 (2020), 344 (2019), 7,280 (2018), 4,297 (2017), 1,681 (2016)

$11.00 – Deeman1
Another returning Premier League coach, Coach Ashley also knows what lays ahead. 2020 was a great year for the team, and he comes into 2021 with a chip on the shoulder after being demoted in 2020. Wanting to prove 2019 was just a blip on the radar, I expect big things from @Deeman1 in 2021, and also expect to see some of the new tricks he picked up last year after a poor 2019. Make no mistake… he will punish anyone foolish enough to write him off.
Form: 279 (2020), 20,477 (2019), 2,661 (2018), 3,333 (2017), 8,447 (2016)

$13.50 – Diabolical
A newcomer to the Premier League in 2021, Coach Andrew had a fantastic season in the PL2 in 2020 finishing as runner-up. Well and truly earning his call-up, he comes into 2021 full of steam and looking to continue the great form of the past year. Some say you have to lose a GF before you can win one, I’m keeping a very close eye on @Diabolical in 2021.
Form: 1,891 (2020), 56,163 (2019), 4,780 (2018), 12,794 (2017), 11,391 (2016)

$15.25 – Darkie
No stranger to the Premier League, @Darkie finds himself back after a year in the Premier League 2. He knows the coach’s, he knows the talent level… You can be sure Coach Adrian won’t be sleeping on the opposition. Always expect a hard Head-2-Head match with Darkie, and be prepared to come out of it with bruises. Bring your mouthguard.
Form: 892 (2020), 28,925 (2019), 2,534 (2018), 20,937 (2017), 589 (2016)

$16.00 - Blaze
Mr Jekyll & Hyde… 2020 proved more difficult than expected for Coach Tom. Tipped to be a big improver in 2020, He found himself like many others stuck in that middle group of teams chasing the last couple of Finals spots. @Blaze unfortunately missed the finals, and started his holidays early. What new trick does he have up his this year to return to finals action?
Form: 1,227 (2020), 10,732 (2019), 1,386 (2018), 7,572 (2017), 2,509 (2016)

$18.50 – Ricky Bobby
Like several others… The former Champions League coach found the going tough in 2020, It was a hard season with many unexpected obstacles thrown at the coaches, Coach James would know where it went wrong, and also know how to fix it. Expect more from @Ricky Bobby this year… Sleep on him at your own peril.
Form: 6,875 (2020), 9,462 (2019) 875 (2018) 5,380 (2017), 6,335 (2016)

$21.00 - LITS
A shocker of a year for the Bandits after a Preliminary Final berth in 2019. In the unfamiliar surroundings of an interstate hub… Coach Iain got caught out by the early season obstacles that were thrown up, and failed to make the finals in 2020. It would be easy to blame it all on the unusual circumstances of 2020…But he put his hand up and took the blame, and will be looking to re-group in 2021 for another assault at the title.
Form: 6,538 (2020), 3,357 (2019) 27,908 (2018) 31,054 (2017), 3,690 (2016)

$22.50 - PC
Another of the handful of teams to miss the finals by just a small margin. Coach Jack wouldn’t be happy with missing the finals in 2020. Finding a way to get those vital wins mid-season would have to be the main area of focus for 2021, and I’m tipping he will find a way to get it done. Look for @PC to be a big improver in 2021. Might be worth a punt at these juicy odds!!
Form: 7,537 (2020), 10,841 (2019) 6,784 (2018) 14,974 (2017)

$22.50 – Beg2Differ
A newcomer to the Premier League in 2021, after stepping up from the PL2 League. Coach Mark may have an advantage this year in that most of the PL coaches where focusing on each other last season, and not necessarily paying attention to the lower leagues. Will @Beg2Differ use this to his advantage? Or will he find the going tough like others who have tried to step up before him?
Form: 2,180 (2020), 21,936 (2019), 4,256 (2018), 4,131 (2017), 8,942 (2016)

$31.25 - Impromptu
Once again the champ is criminally underrated by the bookies. These odds are surely too low for a coach of this quality? Coach Jay is a tactical mastermind and plays the game his own way, which often sees wide variations in his results. But don’t sleep on @Impromptu, His out-of-the-box approach is just as likely to bite you in a Head-2-Head match-up. You just know he has something up his sleeve that no one has seen before, and you could do worse than throw a few dollars on at this price. Good things and a return to form are on the cards for 2021.
Form: 19,723 (2020), 36,693 (2019), 47,923 (2018), 21,707 (2017), 14,753 (2016)

Fantastic stuff @Lost In The Sky !!! Was a bit worried how we’d go losing @THCLT this season but you’ve certainty kept the fire burning!!

Great work on the opening posts and the odds!

I think i’m due for a poorer season and the favourite tag will certainly put even more pressure on. But looking forward to another season of strong banter and competition!

Great write-up @Lost In The Sky!

Firstly it is an honour to return to this prestigious league and I hope I can live up to expectations.

One thing you can be assured of is that I will leave no stone un-turned to justify my elevation to this league, one with a great coaches and great people.

FWIW I think your odds look pretty good.

Looking forward to the year and best of luck to all 😁

Thank you for your kind words Iain. I am a bit of a plodder compared with most here. It is a privilege to be in PL. Honestly keeps me interested in SC after all these years. I am finding it difficult to put a team together I am happy with. Best of luck everyone.

Love it LiTS, great start to the season.

2016 rank was 72, but not pretty since then. In a rebuild phase like the Hawks maybe?

Excellent to be back and looking forward to a really tough but fun comp!

Below are select quotes from coaches reflecting on their 2020 PL experience.

It will definitely be a different experience for me in season 2021 but am confident that the PL is in good hands and will continue to set new benchmark along the way. I look forward to following with great interest...

To put it simply, there is no better league to be a part of.
Always a fantastic bunch of coaches who are invested in the league.
Heaps of amazing content with in depth previews and reviews.
Just like the site itself the people make the PL fun and entertaining with the friendly banter and grudge matches.
The previews and reviews are always not just funny but informative as well .
Its a honour and privilege to be invited the PL and over the years i have found myself doing everything i can to get wins on the board or to hold ranking but sometimes that has come at cost long term and also to my other leagues :ROFLMAO: but thats how competitive the PL makes you.
As a debutante this year I can say it was an awesome experience, challenge and league to be a part of.

Loved reading all the previews / reviews and seeing the various trading moves made by the participating teams. Tough league to get any wins in and I found myself for the first time tracking H2H match ups .... even made some specific trades based on them (also a first).
Being part of the SCS PL is a very unique experience that takes the game to the next level. Where else can you feel like such an SC professional with detailed analysis of results and previews of the next match up! This adds a layer of fun and excitement to each game week like nothing else :D

This league is the shining example of the core values of this site where members treat each other with respect and support each other to be the best SC coach they can be! It isn't just about being the highest ranked, or the champion (or old rusty champion ;) haha)....it is about SCS team success! I am always pleased to get a hard earned win in this league but my preference is that it is always by a point so my fellow SCS coaches are also flying up the rankings!

The PL is something for our new great contributing members of the SCS community to aspire to be a part of! I will always give my all when I have an opportunity to be a part of the PL and equally happy to step aside and give another SCS member the opportunity to go for the ultimate glory!
I always liken SCS overall to going to the pub to hang out with mates.

Being in the PL is like being one of the few that gets invited to the after party.
There's no other way to put it than to say... Being a part of the SCS PL is both a privilege and a tremendous honor.

Being a part of it definitely enhances the experience of playing SuperCoach each week, and always brings out the best in you. We are lucky to have such a great bunch of coaches who fully commit to the League and make it the best experience possible.

The level of knowledge and experience is unparalleled and everyone is more than willing to share and help their fellow coaches out despite the extremely high level of competitiveness.

The Previews & Reviews each week are off the charts, and are quite simply fantastic to read. You really look forward to reading them each week and either trying to live up to the predictions... Or trying to prove them wrong, lol

I've also really enjoyed seeing the different takes on them this season from the coaches that have stepped in to lend a hand to Thanh, It's a significant time commitment each week to provide these so his work (and all the coaches who stepped up) is very much appreciated!
The mighty SCS PL.

Love being involved with the Premier League. While it wasn't the most successful personal season for me, (working full time and doing full time study also, a diploma in community services). Only so much time in the day. Overall finish of 3187.
The premier league was my outlet this season, was a handy break from study.
The previews, reviews and the awesome banter are all part of the PL and so a massive thank you to all involved who provided time with the astute and humorous write ups.
I have been a member of SuperCoachScores for a little while, a little longer than a few. Some years back I met some of you at the Mail X. I am guessing I have been in PL since near the start. The creative writing, zeal and passion of PL sets this league apart from any other. The stats and assistance some of you publish and share after hours of your own research, is more than commendable.
To finish 8th of the 18 team leagues overall was a fantastic result. Says a lot about the quality of coach's. This was my first venture into this highly rated league. After a disasterous first round I managed to claw my back to almost make the top 1K before slipping a little to finish 1875th., and snuck into the finals, so hopefully done enough to go round again next season. My result could not have been achieved without all the info that is provided without any fanfare or bell ringing, by those fellow coach's who devote their precious time to the cause. The weekly write ups provided a much appreciated deflection from all the crap that has gone on around us in this very strange year. It has also provided a lot of humourus banter that helps those who may be struggling a little with lifes ups and downs. Once again a big thanks to Thanh for doing everything he has done for this league and the site in general, without him I think many of us would struggle.
Being in Premier League is the highest honour an SCS member can have. Really tough to get into and really tough to do well in. We all love SuperCoach and everyone wants to win but unfortunately we obviously can't all do that, doesn't stop anyone trying of course. Similar to Premier League, even getting into finals is a super effort, let alone taking out the title, but you give it your all.

What drives you during the season - overall rank, league wins, getting a full premium team, beating out your mates, seeing your footy side do well. I wanted all these things but found my mood over a weekend this season depended on how my Premier League match was going. I remember the week I knew I was going to miss finals - traded in Haynes and FreoShaw and they spudded. I cracked the ****s, certainly wasn't helped by a bunch of life stuff but most of it was bad trades and a rubbish weekly score. I doubt I am alone in having feelings like this - goes to show how much we all want to do well in SuperCoach and Premier League.
Apart from the reviews and previews which just bring the league to another level, I really enjoy being in a league with the site's best coaches. When i say 'best', i don't mean ranking wise (although everyone usually kills it anyway), i mean best as in the best members on the site who all add something in their own ways and make the site that much better.

I'm in a pretty uncompetitive home league which i don't even look at but the premier league is the one i always check first and is set as my default!
Premier by name and Premier by reputation (as Austin Powers might have said). This league is like a cosy private club within the awesome larger club which is SCS and it is just a joy to walk through the doors, order a drink and settle in for a chat with fellow club members while watching a bit of footy.

Its a privilege to be invited to join this league and I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to be runner up a few seasons ago before getting a run in the Champions league. That was great, but this League is "where its at" in terms if competitive interactions and a season arc which includes old rivalries, new challengers and "do or die" match ups from week to week.
The pinnacle of the SCS Leagues, the Premier League is the one that everyone wants to be in each year, the one that members strive to get the opportunity to participate in at some stage over their fantasy career.

To sum up how tough the Premier League is from a competition perspective, you can be comfortably ranked Top 100 Overall, and still be battling away at the bottom of the SCS PL ladder for the season. That's how tough it is to win games in the PL. Every win should be savoured.

The write-ups with the in-depth analysis, and previews/reviews are just next level, simply there's no other leagues around (to my knowledge) that produce content anywhere near the level of what gets pumped out for the PL. The camaraderie and banter between all coaches in the league is fantastic, and further raises this league above all others.

Quality post @Lost In The Sky and I accept the odds of me being wooden spoon favourite but 2021 is the year of redemption for Impromptu (however if I do bad, I reserve the right to delete this post 😂😂)

Have Kayo now and freed up some time, hence was able to organise the Cash Leagues

I’m going to take the liberty of doing a spot of recruiting for my prestigious Shake’n’Bake league. Finished 15th overall last year and I have one open spot remaining. I think several PL members are already part of the League, but I would luv to slot another of you in. If you are interested, shoot me a DM and I’ll share the code. (If I’m inundated with interest I may need to go with the highest 2020 rank per the table above 😋)
