Taranto has been interesting today - got heaps of it but hasn't used it great, seems like today is fairly best case for him and he only hit 106.

Kelly seemed to just be cruising and scored well for what he did, not sure he goes at 87% d/e every game though, but a tick for me (he has to have one year where he doesn't get injured, right?).

Tom Green seemed to be up forward a bit - did well while on ball but based on the role today he is going to struggle to get that 105 I think he needs. But preseason does tend to favour the outside runners more so I guess there is still a chance given he is about as contested as it gets.

Getting closer to a starting squad. Taranto an akward price and wouldn't end up being a keeper and selecting him would upset my current structure so not sure, Tom Phillips has me interested but again structure wise doesn't fit.

I expect Daniels will force his way into teams tomorrow also.

Also interested to see how Sholl goes, he's a smoky for me this season.

Fantasia marks on the boundary and misses, sorry @Herbie66
hahaha

I have no idea what my team looks like now , think 4 of my 8 initial preferred onfield rookies all dissapointed + 3 other options so looking everywhere.

Too many premium defender options to start so looking at :-

Cumming , Hayden , H Young , Webster , Fantasia , Hamling , Jiath , Payne , J Clark , Pearce , Buckley , Idun , Hamill , L Young

only need 2

in all seriousness Fantasia could benefit from playing with a Top 4 team especially if the attention is on Butters , Gray & Rozee

Watching the game so again just doing a stream of consciousness of comments - will update each quarter

Soooo lucky i like SC or I wouldn't be watching much footy this year!

Butts - looks like there is something to work with here. A nice half of footy and one of the few who could hold his head up...getting in on the kick mark stat padding too. He is clearly the No 2 tall defender at the crows so his job security is solid. doing well on Big Charlie. went down with an injured ankle but came back with it strapped. was heading for a decent SC score until that point
Murray - copped a knee to the back of the head from Dixon but he has done Ok thus far...should get a list spot at least - back on the ground and has done Ok
Rowe - is busy but would like him to tackle with a bit more ferocity....went pretty missing in Q2 but scored respectably for a small fwd in a belting
Laird - a very ordinary first quarter - he may have had a big week celebrating his 5 year fat contract...let's hope he doesn't celebrate all year!...worked back into it and finished with an Ok score
Sloane - meh...no meaingful influence on the game although he did improve- this team needs more from its captain who is supposedly fit. I think his future is half forward and blood the kids in the mids with Laird and Crouch
Crouch - gets heaps of it but if you think taranto is a butcher i raise you Matt Crouch - needs 40 possessions a week to be SC relevant to me...dropped out of it in Q2 and i think that is it from him today - i hope so just want to see Berry
Berry - no game time in the first half - smart move...probably helps him get a spot in round one - didn't do much when he came but he was not alone
Thilthorpe - see Berry comment!

I don't personally think there is a whole lot of fantasy relevance at port this year but as a team they have lots of X factor and look a well balanced 22 - they will be tough for anyone to beat this year

a few SC comments.....

Butters - doing as he pleases as are most of port's team to be fair - really hard to judge on this game but he is a player and it wouldn't surprise me if he makes my team at some point this year
Bergman - got a start which is promising and doesn't look out of place off half back - apparently he is only there as Hartlett is out injured. Got a start over Jones, played a full game and scored well...fingers crossed as I would like to pick him
Jones - came on and looked pretty good but hard to judge - limited game time means he likely is coming from a way back
Drew on field and no game time for Rocky could be a changing of the guard - Drew looks good
Fantasia - he is dominating but it is kind of against witches hats so hard to tell if it is a relevant performance
