Picking Williams is a flawed choice, unless you think he's an exceptional starting pick, like a 110+ guy. Compounding that with more flawed to outright bad choices doesn't make that a better move...
Starting Laird in the mids is essentially saying the defender rookies are better than the mid rookies, which makes then switching them to cover with a mid instead of the defender you picked over the mids kind of illogical. Realistically the only reason to start a DEF/FWD in the mids is if the rookies in the DEF/FWD are better and you want them on field and in your team over the mid rookies.
Picking Fantasia to cover for Williams is a train wreck. Picking a midpricer that is a durability disaster, with no premium scoring history that is playing forward pocket so you can pick a premium to not play a game just hurts me!
Don't change your structure and push out better picks so you can take Williams. You're either happy with your back cover and willing to ride out the week because you think he's that good a starting pick or you're not and you don't.
Maybe the back rookies will surprise and all of them will be picked and look safe in the side but I strongly doubt it.

was just a simple comment about why it had to be a defender rookie to cover Williams if someone still wanted to start him Round 1.
and possibly can be covered by Laird with DPP or maybe Fantasia if they didn't trust a rookie at D7.
Williams is just a matter of when he breaks , good luck if he does now play 21 games
