Which two out of Hunter, Meek, Flynn?

Hunter- 28yo, could play the first 6 rounds if Ryder needs more time off or Marshall's injury takes a while to heal.
He also has a history of scoring high supercoach scores in the safl.

Meek- nearly a 23yo, Could be the first choice ruckman with Darcy marked to play as a forward and Lobb injured.

Flynn- 23yo, first choice ruckman now with Preuss out and Mumford only there as backup. Ankle injury the only concern.
I'm considering running with Meek and Flynn, but I'm also considering running Hunter as well. I reckon CCJ is a monty to get games after round 4, the obvious gamble is getting 3 price rises out of Hunter and losing Gawns potential too. I might even start CCJ on the Fwd bench with Treacy.

There's a plethora of rookie rucks more so than ever before.Good call on Callum Coleman Jones plus Fullerton and possibly others.
It's pretty hard for a main ruckman to score under 75 these days.

Only if Hunter outperforms McKernan, otherwise no, Hunter will be dropped and Marshall/McKernan do the ruck work. You are right that Hunter won't play when one of Marshall/Ryder is back unless McKernan is dropped.
Thought Hunter was the specialist ruck.

Hunter & McKernan

Marshall returns so Hunter & Marshall

Ryder returns so normal service is resumed.

Yes Hunter is the specialist ruck who rests forward and Mckernan is the specialist forward who pinch hits in the ruck but they are competing for one spot when Marshall returns. Marshall is so good as both a forward and ruck that he can adjust his time spent in either position depending who he's paired with. So it really comes down to who performs better in the first few rounds they play together. I highly doubt they will play Marshall before he's fully fit at this point in the year, so wouldn't expect him to come back as a forward doing barely any ruck work.

“When I’m playing my best, I’ve got things away from the game that just give me that perspective that even if I am playing really well, you’re not king of the castle because you’re learning simple algebra. You don’t know everything. Or when you’re not performing, that’s OK, I’m going off and I’m in the health science labs, and I’m learning about the heart, and that’s cool,” Grundy told The Age.

“A fundamental, philosophical thing that I have of myself, and that I try to carry myself was challenged. When you get to that sort of level of dissonance, that’s hard to deal with. But I am loath to say it was a **** time in the hub, there was some great stuff. I went surfing with all the guys at Noosa ... but there’s no reprieve from it ... when I was up there it was like, maybe football is everything.”

“As the season went on, it was probably more and more that I felt exhausted. And people were probably saying that I looked that way, mentally and physically. That hurt. I don’t want to see myself be that person. That’s not me,”

2020:
“It’s been an interesting last 12 months, and I was really keen to leave the hub. By the end I was emotionally exhausted, and keen to just get away and spend time with my mum.
“It’s just a missed opportunity. Last year is a missed opportunity for me. I won’t get that back. And that ****s me off.”

Very good article, I have little doubt that he will bounce back hard this year - one of my first picked players.
Due to bounce back and hard not to see it happening. Bit of a shame Martin is at the Dogs as I do love to watch the annual Grundy beat down on English.

Problem is Gawn looks pretty damn good too and there's some interesting value in the ruck rookies potentially.

Believe it or not , I reckon my side actually looks better overall (depending if D5 & D6 works) with Gawn & Grundy in it.

Find with a rookie R2 I am actually spending $$$ on players that I don't really want.

It's weird

Yeh I had a look myself and was alot of that.
I don't really want to go more than 4 premium deep in defence (save a spot for Lloyd & Whitfield) plus with so many options possible think it would be hard to select the correct ones from the start.

Obviously plenty of options to start in the mids , Campbell may be safe to start at M6 depending on how many of the other mid eligible cheapies are actually named.

Danger at F1 appears a lock , not 100% on starting Dunkley or Dusty but probably more scared of taking a punt on Bailey , Bolton , Butters , Caldwell , Heeney , Phillips , Ryan etc etc

de Goey & Greene seem like you know you just have to trade them out so probably best not to start them.

JZ & Joey seem safe enough at F3 & F4 , should be enough other forward rookies to start.

If it wasn't for the exposure risk I much prefer the 3 rookie rucks where I have Danger and Dunkley instead of Caldwell and Gawn and a Daniher/Dow type over a cheaper rookie.

The two rucks I would have to find a defender rookie to play on field I reckon on my current draft which is admittedly a high risk/reward tight rope effort, I think I prefer the 5 premium defenders. I feel very safe with Stewart, Ridley, Daniel, Short and Laird, whether I should is another question but I do.

Going to be a long week

Yeah I posted before I think if we knew we could get 6-8 consecutive games out of all of Flynn , Hunter & Meek I would be all over starting all 3.

Provided Flynn is over his ankle injury he should be the # 1 ruck (not sure when their practice match is , was nothing on their website when I looked earlier today).

Actually wouldn't mind him out for 4-6 weeks and then at least Briggs could become a D/F option

Hunter obviously has the Marshall & Ryder situations which even the club doesn't seem clear on.

Freo seem to have a few contingencies in place to cover Lobb which may include using Draper in that role , or someone else and Draper assumes the # 1 ruck role.

I am happy with Daniels , Laird & Stewart to start , too.many other options for me to choose the 4th or 5th correctly.

Mind you my D5 & D6 options are not inspiring.

Surely the clubs will all be kind and Annouce their debutants on Monday & Tuesday

Has their been any clarification as if they are actually announcing 25-26 the day before or their whole squads will be announced ?
