Chapman in the mix.

Longmuir said impressive youngster Heath Chapman was “in the mix” and not far from a debut.

“We will just have to weigh up a few things tomorrow. He has had a pretty solid pre-season and really impressed with his form at Peel on the weekend.”

The Dockers have already moved to extend Chapman’s contract until the end of 2024.

“The contract is recognition of what he has already produced at the club,” Longmuir said.

"not far from a debut" sounds like at least another month in the reserves.

Think I need professional help.....

Spent ten minutes tonight coming up with this cunning long shot plan that if by any chance Koschitske scores large as defensive E the to use Zach Williams as a surprise donut. Figured all the timing out with the Giants play on Sunday etc.....

Only for the light bulb to suddenly go on that he plays for Carlton now.....

Not to poke fun at the guy himself but the role...
Bombers "head of high performance"? Wonder what his KPIs are?
I think you quoted the wrong message, but I did notice he has the same name as the autistic doctor on The Good Doctor. Maybe someone was a fan of that show who hired him? High performance and Essendon don't really go together in recent years, so not sure how he justifies his role - KPI's must be non existent as you were alluding to.

Whether clubs would be able to use an extra player for concussion or for any injury has been the subject of much debate, with an official announcement now only expected hours before Thursday night’s season-opener between Richmond and Carlton.

“The AFL heads of football at each club and (AFL football operations boss) Steve Hocking were meant to start a phone (meeting) at 6pm and I’ve received word from a club that the meeting has been rescheduled until tomorrow," Sportsday’s Sam McClure reported on Tuesday night.

“This has now become a mess – tomorrow we are a day away from Richmond facing Carlton.

Are you kidding me .,,

As unprofessional as all this looks, the timing of the decision is not really important, as long as a decision is made before Rd1 starts.
Majority of the AFL Coaches welcome it, so it's not an issue with them, just working out the finer details needs to be completed.

I can handle a last minute decision on the concussion sub if it is actually a sub just for concussion only. I think actually they should have done this a long time ago as it is not like this is new information suddenly available to them. I think it is not that exploitable either as if someone is ruled out they miss the next week and coaches won't tinker with that.

The injury sub is a much bigger issue. There should be some clear research and policy behind how that is interpreted so it isn't exploited. This is starting to look like policy on the run

The whole under 21 thing....ok now we are just in Ridiculousland like 8 year olds in a school yard changing the rules by yelling over each other until the one who shouts loudest makes the rules

If the margin is out to 10 goals all the good players on the leading side have to swap and play for the losing side!
