Position SC 2021: Defender Discussion

His SC fluctuations are strongly correlated with his DE. I recall him getting high 70s/close to 80% in DE in 2018, but low 70s in 2019.

From watching the game, like I mentioned on the other thread, he's actually an exceptionally accurate and creative kick when given the space in the back half.

But once he shifts into the midfield (which he did in 2019), his DE just gets crushed as they are often rushed/hacked kicks from contests. And it looks like Bucks will keep him in defence despite our clear lack of midfielders and abundance of defenders. Regardless, can see him playing a loose half-back role with Moore/Roughhead handling the talls, and Maynard/Howe shutting down the mid-sized forwards.

The other big plus for Crisp is he is super resilient. Has not missed a game in six seasons.

Think it's almost the POD to not pick Short now. In 35% of teams. I'm still torn on what 4 premo defenders to choose, genuinely tossing up between 6 or 7 of them.

He's been in my team on day 1 and literally on the eve of the season I'm now considering dropping him. He should have just stayed quiet during AAMI.

He's so talented he can demand a spot in their best 22 but definitely an all or nothing pick, especially with Duncan looming. Kind of pick who will basically either be averaging 80 or in the reserves come round 4.

If he gets his best avg, he'll make close to 100k. Could be a great pick, but just such an awkward price.

Last night has also made me think that I need to start Lloyd. Can’t see him going down much in price now.

Need a low to mid price defender to free up cash to oust Daniher. As tempting as his price is,I don’t think I want to be tormented by his durability issues.Been in the game 9 years and has terrible kicking efficiency.
Definitely going to take a punt on someone,just gotta decide who.
Options would seem to be Quaynor, Day, Fantasia, Long, Idun, Corr, and Budarick.
Actually considering Budarick due to him being the 3rd ranked player in the NAB league, behind only Matthew Rowell and Tom Green in 2019.
Second year in the system,should improve. Good ball winner and tackler as a junior.
Any input greatly appreciated.

I’m waiting for one of the GWS DEF line to drop. Also it has been reported Young from the Roos will start.

I'd have to go Clark (currently D5) down to a bargain-basement def rookie other than Highmore, Kozi, Sharp) then Daniel or Stewart up. I don't think there are enough def rookies. Will have to see teams.

Don't think that's right, if what you are saying is how Short and Houli go together vs the one without the other:

Short averaged higher than that with / without Houli at stages (with in blue, without in red):


He's been building over time, you can see how he's expanded his scoring in the higher bands (again, a little more without, around 5ppg difference?)

But maybe I misunderstood your point, haven't gone back through the conversation.
