Faulkner what a gem!! Fanatstic finish to that game last night. Thought we were gone tbh.
Maxwell and Marsh also looked good but didn't go on with it which was a bit annoying but at least promising too see them go pretty good.

Everyone did.... rofl...

I think that is why other Aussie players gave Faulkner a genuine guard of honour. It was crazy good!!!

However I did see enough of the innings he played in India to realize once he went into full assault mode. the only way England could protect their score was to get him out. The run rate in last two overs was virtually irrelevant because he was just going to go BANG!!! Not much chance of stopping him clearing the rope. I don't even think Faulkner worried when he missed any as I'm sure he realized all he needed to do was connect with 2 an over and there would be 12 runs off those he could afford to swing hard and not get frustrated at any he missed. So good he knows his own game so well, that he never made the run chase complicated in his mind. That's two games he has turned a game on it's head with brute force. He would be scary bowling too in those situations.

I remember looking at batting line-up when Aussies went out to bat and seeing Mitchell Johnson batting number 10 meant England could never be sure they had won it until they got EVERY player out. With Finch and Warner missing out, it still meant we had fire power down the batting order if we needed it. Still, you would think with the last wicket remaining, the cricket gods would think, ok, lets show Cooky some mercy and let him win one game on this tour, but no, the cruel twist off knife for Cook was to come. Even this game they were to lose. It really was cruel because Poms did , do so much right this game and to get beaten would hurt like hell.

The finish was right up there with the Bevan finish in Sydney v Windies a few years ago we when never should have been able to come back and win.

Faulkner turned this game on it's head like Botham did a Test match in early 80's with just full on attack that paid the full dividends.

It reminded me of the fantastic one day finish at World Cup in England when Australia beat South Africa. Lance Klusener back then, was as dangerous as Faulkner. There was no stopping him getting a total to chase unless you got him out and he looked like he would do what Faulkner done, thankfully Damien Fleming kept his head as bowler at time and eventually Klusener got out. Unfortunately for Poms, they had no Flemo bowling for them to stop Faulkner.

I'd lean towards Hazlewood, the others have higher ceilings I reckon
Goodie I agree you should Hazlewood. I reckon the Strikers peaked to early, and now going through a slump might just miss out on finals. Other than them it is anyone's guess as to who will make it
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Just realised I didn't end up swapping Hazlewood with Malinga!!! Arrhhh
Lynn only 3 points, Cutting only 1 and Malinga on the bench!!!

Either take Hales 66 x2 =132 or go Bird or White as skipper.
This one I am thinking stick with Hales.

My bench has scored 204 points with only 2 players played

But my team has only 319 with 7 players played

Got Bird, White, Wright and Dunk left

Hope to get 500 or more points

This rounds trades for me:

M. Hussey (bye) ---> A. Hales (DGW) and will be VC
A. Turner ---> L. Malinga (underpriced so want to get him in now and have him for the finals)
You probably know this but when finals come its unlimited trades so Malinga or anyone you want comes in.

I'm looking at Malinga next week.

I traded Malik and Floros for Botha and Richardson. I already had Hales.

My VC was on Botha and with 73 i will take it as C. I have 591 with White,
Laughlin and Birt to come.

Yep same. I gotta say him scoring a duck was annoying after redeeming himself with the ball.

I'm on 401 with Dunk, Birt, Bird, White to come. Henriques (114) on the bench is painful with Marsh (7) on the ground.

Yeah I know mate :) I've got 5 front line Bats and Bowlers so that when it comes to those unlimited trades I've got all premiums to trade (e.g. higher priced players), that's why I got Malinga under-priced

Wright, White and Bird to come for me, currently 363 + 66 with Hales VC score taken as C.

Australia Test squad for South Africa:
Michael Clarke(c)
Brad Haddin (vc)
Jackson Bird
Alex Doolan
James Faulkner
Ryan Harris
Mitchell Johnson
Shaun Marsh
Nathan Lyon
James Pattinson
Chris Rogers
Peter Siddle
Steve Smith
David Warner
Shane Watson

George Bailey axed from the test squad, Shaun Marsh and Alex Doolan will most likely fight it out for the number 3 position with Watson to drop down to the more tradition number 6 spot for the all rounder. Bird and Pattinson back from injury as well to add to our pace attack, Nathan Coulter-Nile a bit stiff to miss out on the touring squad as well.

Thnaks a lot Sri Lankan Cricket Board...

BREAKING NEWS
Sri Lankan cricket has recalled the Melbourne Stars' Lasith Malinga and Sydney Thunder's Ajantha Mendis from the Big Bash League with immediate effect, so the pair can undertake a training programme in Sri Lanka.
Malinga's fitness is among the selectors' chief concerns, as the team prepares for a busy limited-overs schedule in the next three months, which features the Asia Cup and World Twenty20.
"We felt it is important for all national squad players to undergo a strict training regime in the next few weeks, as Sri Lanka has a heavy schedule ahead," the SLC secretary, Nishantha Ranatunga, told Daily Mirror.
"The decision to call back Lasith and Ajantha was taken in consultation with our coaches and national selectors."

Annoying news with Malinga out, but lucky for me I have Vettori's 61 on the bench.
I think I can still cover him next week because I have 5 premium bowlers (Had been a terrible move until now, haha...)

Well I saw the Stars 13 man squad for tonights game and he was still listed in it so he may well play tonight. Not sure though, will have to wait and see when they announce the teams.

Its frustrating coz I got him in this week to be ahead of the pack and get him underpriced before finals where every man and his dog would have him.
