I'm inclined to pick Cahill - partially because he actually looks like he has a decent role. Not going to say he smashes it but of the rookies with limited ownership he appeals on the basis he could nailed a game or two, grow as a player and become an onfield option pretty quickly.

Are Bombers fan picking him or simply taking Jones?
I'm picking both (and Hind) in the forwards.

Rutten simply has to play the youth this year. Worsfold had us lost in the hallway of mediocrity pretty much from day dot. If Rutten doesn't show that he can get more out of our draft picks, as well as players like Francis, Parish etc, then the faithful (including yours truly) will be going mad.

You going with all 3?
Nah I think that's a bridge too far for me. Argubaly if the rookie R2 route is the "correct" way to go then perhaps full-rook is too. I can also see a scenario where we are all going 'wow it was so obviously Gawn was only going to average 120 shoulda started Grundy/Witts/OBrien' but I am scared of having to wait until mid year to afford him if the rookie well runs dry. So for me taking the rookie at R2 will pay for the $ loss in Gawn and possibly some others

A Gawndy setup with Neale and Lloyd certainly has an advantage points wise but there's a fair bit of value leakage that's likely to take place there. Impossibly to really figure out what will play out

Yea, I hear you. When I take out 1 of Grawndy, I find that I end up with the same number of premiums but that I'm lacking Grundy or Gawn...

One benefit is that we do get to see Grundy and any potential impact of the new rule on premium rucks scores. Grundy does have a good record against the Dogs so I'll watch that space closely as it does give me the opportunity to move Gawn to Neale Friday night if there are glaring concerns for scoring capacity.

yes that’s where I end up
To me it’s all about the rookie crop elsewhere. We can cover rookie outs far easier on other lines so if enough are named i don’t see the need to take a premium ruck out.
Time will tell

Last year I used early round 1 games to assess the rucks and it lead me down the path of trading trac to Ceglar.

You keep threatening to switch over! Meek playing with Darcy swung it for me. I actually want to field Hunter round 1 tho.

Disclaimer: I started Naismith last year.
I think I'll start Gawn/ Flynn /Meek with confidence knowing that Hunter is still there if there is a catastrophe in the first two rounds.

In my early SuperCoach days,I’d always skimp on the ruckman,to try and build a stronger all round team. Whether it was my poor decision making,or not, I just found it took quite a few trades to get the guns in.
Now we have 2 of the upper echelon scorers in that position, who are durable, and will probably not drop in price much, you’re going to need your rookie rucks to keep getting games, and scoring decently, and hopefully not getting their underdeveloped bodies smashed,or get dropped.
If you strike trouble ,you’re very limited in what trades are available to replace them, due to price.
Nothing worse( in SuperCoach terms) than not having Gawn ,and seeing him producing 130s every week.
My 2 cents anyway, and remember, we’re all experts this time of year !
