Mistake. Scott is an on-field calibre rookie. Jones is a slow burn bench.

Jones absolutely worth picking if you've got a lot of forward rookies but Scott is one of the very best rookies.

All over Cahill. Playing a role that is a 70ppg role. Just can't argue with that in a team that needs him in that role. They've lost Fantasia, McKenna and Saad that were their best 3 in the role last year.

I see you two and raise you a "I started Spudgard and traded Brayshaw to Ceglar and didn't even start Trac after he burned me for 3 years in a row"

/Mic drop

Berry may be in for Crouch but from what he showed in the AAMI game he will cement a spot in their best 22 pretty quickly. In two minutes he showed me more than Chayce Jones has in 2 years.

Take the 13 as a grain of salt, he scored 19 DT after coming on when the game was absolutely done and did a lot of good things, he'd have scored 30 in a contest.

Really like him, he's an on-field rookie in the right role but wouldn't go him in round 1 just to make sure he's playing it and not rotting in a forward pocket!

Yes. Mature ager given a defined role, looked very good in it and Crozer is out long term. JJ is lurking though but it's Scott's position to lose right now. Similar to Cahill, playing as the 4th rebounding defender and should push 70 in that role.

Hunter's output I expect to be excellent, 80+ with 90 not beyond him. Problem is that he's done when Ryder and Marshall are back and that could be round 3. Be shocked if he plays any more than sparingly when both of them are available, if he plays at the level that would require then we'll all be dumping Gawn or Grundy to get him anyway.
My later post was deleted, in that I did say I thought he looked a good option, just thought he might get dropped then brought back. Great numbers as a junior, 104 average. I have brought him into my team, on field too, but can still see having no midfield bench at some point. Still thinking it might be worth looking at a team with a few extra mid pricers to get rid of some marginal rookies off my team.

I'm struggling to see this and at a higher price have my reservations, he's never gone close to 70ppg and even in his praccy match managed only 50 odd from 83% tog. What's his role? Bomber fans on BF seem to think Redman should be in the team over him also which makes me think his JS might be a little iffy,

@Bomber18 or anyone else able to comment also on your thoughts.

Debating over Brockman v H Jones on my fwd bench.

Jones has the better job security, Wingard to return soon may force Brockman out but on the flip side I think Brockman has more potential for a big score & his DP is handy.

Most important few days of the SC year coming up. Decisions, Decisions....
Briefly thought of the 3 rookie ruck setup. Had to bail on it. Leaves you in no mans land for playable downgrade options and is a massive effort to go up. One gets injured / dropped / suspended / turns out ****, its a nightmare.
Thinking of sitting out tonights game wherever possible. See what the scoring trend looks like... Cripps and Dusty are massive conundrums. Seem like safe picks put neither have been top premiums for a couple of years now.

Cahill could be a more lockdown rather than distributing type imo. Hind and Heppell will be the attackors so someone (probably Cahill) needs to defend.

Ive got no players in my team playing tonight. I’m not convinced on Cripps, and I can always bring him in later if I’m wrong.

Your information and knowledge of the Game has been a great assistance to myself and I am sure many others whom read these threads.

Thank You.

Best of Luck for the Year.

$341,300 to spend on 2 blank possies in forward line. Have been going with Cox and Cahill who I thought would be ok, which leaves only $4,300, but having second thoughts re reading some posts. Suggestions? Not too keen on Dow or Impey, but could slot Joey and an el cheapo rook. Or restructure and go with JZ. Cmon and just start r1.

Amongst all the excitement of rookie being named forgot all about Warner. Any info from Swans supporters. He has to start. ????

Honestly don't know how long Brockman stays in the team, I think Wingard, Breust, Moore and Hanrahan are all ahead of him. Although, I am taking Brockman knowing that if he is dropped, Hawks play many Sunday games early and he is a handy DPP loop player. Jones with better JS and will be a slow burner

Attention Meek owners :-

Sean Darcy appears set to line up in Fremantle’s season opener at the MCG after flying out with teammates this afternoon.

Fellow tall Matt Taberner also travelled with the Dockers despite exiting training early yesterday due to back spasms.

Darcy hasn’t featured at all this pre-season as he battles to overcome a knee complaint.

But the 202cm giant boarded the Dockers’ flight for Melbourne in a promising indication that he’ll be fit to take on star ruckman Max Gawn and the Demons on Saturday.

He's a total enigma

First game he looked a million bucks, 2nd game he looked like he has the rest of his career.

I do like him more on field than most of the cheaper guys and I'm still tossing up on him. The fear that he's the same spud he's been the past few years is genuine for me and he wouldn't surprise me if he was out of the team by round 4 but he also wouldn't surprise me if he averaged 80, he was a top junior for a reason and I still think it's in there.

Ultimately if you think positively on him and have the cash then start him, worst case he's a gateway to any other rookie, best case he could be the top rookie this year. I think if he fits without making sacrifice elsewhere then that's a pretty good equation.
hey mate, based on your super rookie analysis and the quoted post above from yesterday, let's say if H.Sharp does get named to debut for Brisbane, would you consider having him on your defence bench? Not sure about how his JS would be.

The only way I could fit in H.Sharp is to downgrade P.Dow to someone like a Ned Cahill or Bruhn from GWS. My current D8 is A.Fyfe.
Ahhhhh I'm about 12k short of affording Sharp! And not too keen on downgrading any other rookies except Dow at this stage!!
