Assuming that Rowell's 8 points stands I'm wrapping up on 2049 (Merrett C). Left Rowe's score on the bench (only -35 as Warner's 70 was at F6) and traded out Gulden for Powell just before the Swans game.

Maybe one rookie correction (Gulden looks like a must have - much more than Bailey Scott did a couple of years ago) and figuring out what to do with Rowell to mull over come Monday.

Football isn't good for my health. Between Supercoach and being an Essendon supporter. My season is done after Round 1 and I don't even particularly think I made the wrong picks?

Cheer up mate,

I’ve been ranked outside top 10,000 for the last 9 years (some years outside top 50,000) and also an Essendon Supporter too.

Just treat SuperCoach as a bit of fun but I do completely understand the frustration.

The game doesn't sort itself out for a couple of weeks IMO. The variation between scores will level, rookies will have ups and downs and it really is blind luck whether you get them on the field at the right time, especially round round 1. I mean there were plenty saying Rowe wouldn't score well and Bergman is the rookie to have, truth is you don't know until they hit that white line.

You can be ranked 20000 round 1 and inside 2000 at the end of round. The thing now is to hold your nerve on premiums and rookies you've backed that had a bad day or identify issues that may look long-term and sort them straight away.

I'll burn trades these next few weeks, the key is where.
