I'd like to congratulate the throwlong Cats on their successful code switch. They'd be an appropriate counterpart to the Storm. Disgraceful match. An old, mind numbingly boring side going down with no dignity whatsoever. Selwood doing what he does, goals from offloads, no double 50 on Hawkins, no holding the ball in the last minute. Contrast that with Bews getting one his way for what I thought looked a lot like a sling tackle- which, incidentally, is the inevitable result of allowing players to hold it in for ages or throw it away. Of course the Lions did kick themselves out of it too, but allow me my rage.
Anyway, I'm a less than stellar 6/499 from Cripps, Walsh, Neale, Clark, Bailey and Daniher.
Neale- clearly underdone. Congrats to those who avoided him.
Bailey- star, I'd like him to up his possession count more often but there aren't many non KPPs who can score 97 from 15 touches and no goals. Would've been 115ish if the game was umpired to the standard of any local footy match.
Daniher- almost game, a 73 against Geelong isn't the end of the world though.
Sharp- definitely overawed in a big game away from home. Probably gets a rest now, at least I had him on the bench.
Clark- too much pressure for him in this one even in Geelong's snoozefest of a gameplan. He's got some skills, pretty weak when it counts though. Might be on the outer if he plays like that again, that is if Scott doesn't drop him straight away.
Speaking of weak, Gary Rohan and Gryan Miers
