Thanks Herbie, felt I had to be bold as I can see Flynn/Meek working for a little while longer but not as long as I first thought (Grundy pumping out big scores has a bit to do with it; as will whatever Flynn makes against Gawn this week, given he has Grundy next week ).

Needed to restructure and after seeing the Roos give up 10 goals to Josh Bruce (!?) I thought, YOLO let's go Tex, meaning I can maybe even bring in Grundy as early as next week and push one of Flynn/Meek to the bench.
I certainly can understand people trading out a injured/suspended player to Walker but to trade out a premium takes a lot of guts.

The more I think about it Meek looks a ideal R3 make some $$$ then upgrade Flynn or vice versa , can't change it now.

Still think a rookie average around 60 is better on the bench.

I made some dumb thought processes this week and just realised I still should have traded in Walker instead of Warner as the former would probably score more and increase in price higher , could have got Warner next week if still necessary.

Oh well it's happened now , just need to play a lot smarter.

6 games to go so what the rest of the round has in store , looks like a score of 2300+ is needed again just to stay in touch.

Defence looking like a problem beyond this week with Sharp and Highmore dropped, question marks about Clark and even Kosi not that secure I suspect. Might have to trade out Highmore despite his low BE because it is hard to see him coming straight back unless their is an injury.
Lot of eyes on Chapman & Parks tomorrow to see if they look viable.

I have Fyfe at D8 which further complicates things and Berry , Powell & McNeil on my mid bench so probably too early to cash them in for a downgrade.

Might have to sacrifice a premium mid for a defender and field one of Berry/Powell.

Take a look at Tex’s history.
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then. 15 goals in 3 games is not sustainable. He kicked 15 al last year. Definite short term win but I’ll definitely back it in that it will not last.
Agree that he won’t average 5 goals and 140 SC from here. Disagree that we can categorically say he will not be a keeper.

Doesnt need to last long, 6 games would be plenty to be a win. If he actually kicks on longher it is a bonus.

Over 10-12 years, think he has scored 5 goals or more 9 times. He has now done it 3 times including in a Swans belting (lucky not a 50point loss). You have a change of rule and an easy run early.

Could be like Libba whem he was $300k coming back from an ACL and went to $480k. Potn he could be better given ceiling, rule change and early run.

You may want to back in it will not last, however if he makes $150k in 2 rounds, not sure how the lack of sustainability is a win. Better to be learning and adapting I think.

Up to late last year I never traded a premium, if one thing I learnt from my worst year is to learn new tricks. So Neale to Tex has given me $190k in one week. That is significant at just the end of round 3.

I agree, not banking in he is a premium. He does have a round 14 bye which is handy, does he last that long? If anything, best to enjoy ride and not preempt sustainability, jumped of ROB at $400k on that basis, had a win, yet left $$ and a 180 on the table.

Doesn't need to be a keeper either.

A cash cow that has netted 420 odd points in 3 games and whatever else the immediate future holds is a massive win for those that started him and those that traded him in missing round 1 points.

Doesn't matter which way you look at it, Walker is a big win for those with him sitting in your team right now. That win for those that trade him in this week MAY be there and for those in the future but it'll diminish one way or another compared to where we are now.

We can all sit back and say he'll drop off and history says he will, but even if he plays 22 games and finishes top 10 forwards or just out that's pretty good from where he started.

Lots to play out yet. It’s never just about one player. The Tex guys got a 130, but what did your guys get? A 130 advantage can be fritted away by the wrong rookie choice. Or captain choice. Or damn de goey....
Concentrate on working the loops, trying to get the right rookie scores and using your trades to fix your weaknesses. I’m ranked 240 and with Tex from round 1 instead of De Goey I’d probably be number one LOL! But I didn’t lol!

Nah, Warner first Herbie. I would have done that. $144k player who can give 90’s, could easily make the same as Tex and lower capital, much better return on invested capital. I had Jordon higher than Tex too and line ball between Berry and Tex. brockman who some talked about (who i have) sits behind this group I think.
