As the trades burn away like paper in flames I'm inclined to hold players like Campbell. Has shown he can score and will hover around his current price with 50s so it seems a fairly low risk play to keep him.

Am lucky that I'm covered forward with Dunks, Dusty, Tex, Ziebell, Impey & Warner so there is a bench spot he can keep warm for a while yet.

As for trades this week, Daniel doesn't look like averaging 100 from here - even 90 seems a stretch.

Can go Daniel -> Gawn, Jordon/Meek -> Waterman.
Meek might yet eek out some more coin the bench, still a low(ish) BE and can score solidly if he's actually on the park. That's if he's not dropped .

Daniels role has changed dramatically. No kick outs, and not the preferred runner out of defence he used to be. Dale and Williams seemed to get that more. Has to go.

Does anyone have anything to add on why Jordan had such low TOG? Am trading him or Dow to Waterman (As well as Mr 19) and am trying to decide which one. From a Carlton supporter, I see no way that Dow holds his spot unless Carlton wakes up with another 10 injured players. Will Jordan even play next week?

With Kosi & Highmore on my back bench, Daniel is a must trade for me or take a 0.

With a 19 in his system & now suspended for a week with his role not as expected/ now shows how vulnerable he is to a fwd tag - just hard to justify keeping him with Bowes being such a good replacement trade option at 503K playing the most perfect Jake Lloyd seagull role that you will ever see.

I don't particularly want to trade this week, but am mindful that my bench is looking a little light on for playing/money making rookies:

D: Chapman (Kosi, Highmore)
M: Berry (Campbell, JordOn, Fyfe)
F: Daniher, Warner (Rowe, Scott)

I dont particularly want to trade Campbell given his JS, DPP and potential to knock out an okay score, I am happy to wear a decrease in price in the short term given the other benefits he brings.

The rookies at this stage who interest me over the coming weeks include Waterman, Jones and Treacy. Do we see any long term value in moving Scott/Kosi/Highmore on for Waterman this week even though it only allows you to lock in a small profit?

Pretty sure I will finally rid myself of JDG. 4 chances is enough. Likely to go Jones.
2nd trade will either involve Steele, Darcy or Dangerfield.
Don’t want to be in the predicament again of playing Meek. Darcy looks a good stepping stone. He’s clearly the #1 ruck, and has a nice forward string to his bow, and gets me closer to Gawn.
I want Steele but can’t help but feel that value probably has to be the play now with the ruck issue.
Danger would be to not play Waterman or Rowe, but not really fussed on going this early on Danger.
So most likely Darcy, but maybe Steele if I want to continue to live a little dangerous with the rucks

How about Hickey instead of Darcy for nearly $70K cheaper or do you already have him? As a Swans supporter I've obviously been watching him closely and he's playing unbelievably well and a perfect fit for the Swans system. So he's personally the stepping stone ruck I'd be targeting if I couldn't get to the two big dogs.

Darcy is only in 0.3% of teams so you'd have a pod for sure but there is probably more risk with Meek around, unless he gets dropped this week. You may not even get $100K out of Darcy despite the 129 for the next 2 price movements.

Darcy ($448,500) next 3: Adelaide (ROB), North (Goldy), West Coast (Nic Nat).
Hickey ($381,600) next 3: GWS (Prob Flynn), Gold Coast ( ? ), Geelong (Stanley).

Looks ok for Hickey.

So my 2 trades might be something like Phillips and Daniel for Steele and Hickey, then down the track hopefully Hickey to Gawn.

Was planning on trading Daniel regardless but the suspension locks it in for me especially because my bench cover is Highmore and Sharp who are unlikely to play.

So I have two options and one involves a bit of a re-structure.

1. Daniel & Campbell to Bowes & Waterman
2. Daniel & Campbell to Dunkley & L Jones

First option leaves me a bit exposed up forward with Waterman, Rowe, Fullarton and A Scott at F5-F8.
Second option means I go one week early on Jones and both he and Chappy are at D5 and D6 with just one of the above mentioned forward rookies on field.

Thoughts on which option is best?
2 will be more points, but I suspect Bowes to be more efficient use of capital. Which I think will win out in the end if it allows a quicker upgrade down the track. Jones next week for mine.

Time for baby steps

Heeney - > Chapman (week late)
Hunter - > Hickey

Can't ignore Hickey any more

Will hold Daniel and have another look at L Jones

Highmore , JordOn , McNeil , Fyfe , Fullarton all problems on the bench , just worry about them later.

There's a lot of talk moving C Daniel on this week, whilst there are obvious reasons surely there is SOME merit of keeping him? A lot of the damage has been done already (points and $$$) so if trades are worth saving he might be worth keeping?

For the record i didn't watch the Dogs game but is there anything that substantiates that he's taking less kick outs, and/or an increase in team mates possessions out of defense? Whilst he hasn't set the world on fire IIRC he still scored ok in the first 3 games which would indicate they are looking to get the ball into his hands still?

It ****s me I chose him over Ridley but Ridley is gone now. I generally don't like paying over $600k for anyone on a trade in (even if he is currently the number 1 ranked player in the comp!).

I think you've gotta look for that value pick for premo potential and take the punt. Bowes is definitely in that category. CJ is $100k cheaper but a bit more speculative. Both of them averaging over 100.

The other option is a downgrade (which I'm considering as I have Clark at D6 and Chapman at D7). I don't mind Nik Cox now that we've seen what he can punch out. Two price rises already so not a genuine downgrade at $250k but he has two 90s in his rolling average and a BE of -41 so still some case to make. The issue with Cox will be the consistency of scoring. Unfortunately, Highmore is completely useless as a loop option this week with Saints playing Thursday night.
