Leaning towards binning for Walsh (via Laird to backline) as it allows me to play Chapman at D6 instead of Berry/Jordon M8 which I think will net me points over the coming weeks.
Hey mate just double check you have that right for your team. Daniel to Walsh via Laird shouldn't really get you your d7 onfield instead of your m9 I don't think? Unless I'm getting confused.

For my team, I keep going back and forth, but atm I reckon I'll trade Daniel too. Daniel/Campbell to Bowes/Waterman this week should leave me just enough for Clark/Dow to Jones/Clarry (a real upgrade!!) next week.

Yes I would play the B/E game and get Steele first too assuming the extra $40K required didn't cause you any other issues like cashing out a Gulden or Campbell too early etc. In which case I'd go Clarry instead if that means avoiding that.

Obviously it would be nice to grab Oliver in the next few weeks too once he's bottomed out but who know what issues we'll be dealing with at that point. Maybe another of your premos gets injured and you can also bring in Oliver too via that route as an example.

But if forced to choose right now the slight preference would be Steele. I started both fwiw and now looking for an avenue to Macrae, hopefully in the next few weeks ... but we'll see.
Have the cash to go straight to Steele. No idea how I'm going to get Clarry in over the next few weeks but Steele it is :) and maybe Clarry gets a decent tag next few games :p

I’m thinking I go aggressive after reading a few comments here and go:

J.Kelly to J.Steele
B.Campbell to A.Waterman

My ruck section is vulnerable relying on one of Flynn/Meek to play, but either way I’d rather just upgrade straight to Gawn in a week or two rather than a makeshift ruck and burning a trade.

Mid rookies is weakish but can loop.

Forward rookies sketchy..

Team would look like this:

I would prefer to reverse both trades and attend to improving your bench cover and cash generation instead. McNeil/Scott/Fyfe to Waterman via Campbell would push Jordon to the bench and allow him to be looped.

If trading Kelly, I would prefer to grab Impey as a replacement by moving Dunkley/Dusty to the midfield for the time being. This could allow Clark to Mitchell/Oliver via another downgrade in the coming rounds.

You’re right. I’m making an impulse decision. Will improve cash gen and bench cover. Going to rethink this and bring in Waterman and maybe Macrae from Pies.

Some interesting things on Daniel. He has had 26, 28 and 30 disposals the first three weeks and then 8, tells me they are still using him as an outlet.

His contested possession/uncontested possession stats last year were 110 contested and 203 uncontested. This year he’s at 11 contested, 66 uncontested. He was rated elite as a general defender for contested possessions last year and above average for contested possession rate with 6.1 cps on average and a 35.1% CP rate. This year he’s below average/poor with 2.8 cp’s and 14.3% cp rate.

His intercept possessions per game last year were above average at 5.2 per game and were in 2019 as well, this year they’re below average/poor at 2.5 per game.

His kicking is the same.

So basically atm he isn’t winning his own ball or intercepting, things he’s done consistently well for two seasons in that role. He is a tough player and I expect the cp’s to pick up quickly, hopefully the lack of intercepts isn’t a result of the rule changes and defensive structure but I’ll hope not.

Fwiw intercept possessions are different to intercept marks, it feels like all of Ridley’s intercepts are marks and Daniel’s are the opposite, needless to say you’d get more points for the marks. He is small but can read the play and get in the right spots, I do wonder if teams are putting a lot more work into shutting down that part of his game.
Biggest thing so far with the intercept possessions is that the ball just hasn't been coming into the backline that often for him to rack up intercepts. Here's the inside 50s by opposition teams this year:

Round 1 COL - 40 (least by any team that round)
Round 2 WCE - 47 (4th least)
Round 3 NM - 33 (least, comfortably)
Round 4 BRI - 44 (2nd least)

Remind why I traded Hunter out again. Oh thats right bloody GWS dropped Flynn and left me facing a donut. So Treacy comes in for 35 big ones. a week later, Marshall on holiday and Hunter playing like a ruckman. Good news is I have Daniel who will I throw in the dustbin this weekend as I allow Dangerfield out into the sunlight to meet his new teammate Maxxy.. What a cluster SC is at times.

Need to get rid of May this week, but don't have any cash in the bank... I also don't have any rookies that are done moo-ing yet. Would love some advice on what people would do in my position. Happy to try something left-field - I am considering May to CJ but not sure if that's going to be a detriment long-term. Also want Waterman, but for who?

Lloyd, Short, May, Docherty, Chapman, Clark (Kosi, Highmore)
Neale, Macrae, Laird, Cripps, Taranto, Campbell, Jordan, Gulden (Berry, Powell, Scott)
Gawn, Grundy (Flynn)
Dunkley, Hind, Ziebell, Impey, Warner, Rowe (Jones, Bergman)
Heppell possibly worth consideration?

Meh, Hunter seems incapable of reaching the massive 60 point score barrier, I wouldn't be stressing too much about ditching him. I certainly am not.

Thinking at using Heppel as a guy to get a rookie off the field.

So Heppel waterman in for 2 of..

Daniher, brockman, Jordan, Campbell.

Can use any 2 in any order. So can afford it by trading the 2 cheaper guys, brockman and Jordan. Which 2 hehe

I've got no idea where to go from here. I keep trying to make the safe play and every week it turns out wrong. All I know is that I need Waterman in this week. Thoughts of letting Daniel go to swing Laird back, also toying with the idea of Heppell because I missed out on Tex and Impey trades but that might be me trying to force something to make up for a percieved loss. Are either of those even good ideas?

Personally I would go Brockman. I am thinking that Daniher will go big against Essendon. Jordan should get more game time this week and Campbell is going to make more cash.
