Devils advocate outlook on his game, did nothing until the game was over and proceeded to use it terribly when he got into the game in junk time.
I’m comparing him to actual rookies, I don’t see why they wouldn’t keep playing him considering more seasoned players aka Sier / Brown / Daicos didn’t do much better (stats, and in game)

18 disposals in a losing team, in his first game of footy, that’s a solid effort

Anyone else think that Macrae actually resembles a bit of Jack

If he was a bit better with his disposal efficiency, easy 70+ - gonna be keeping an eye on him in 2 rounds time
took the plunge this week, he has the potential of getting 20+ touches which would equate to a handy score, unlike others who get 8-12 touches.

he was also off the ground for large periods in the 1st half, like Buckley had his best side and was reluctant to bring him on when they were dominating. He only got a proper go late 3rd and got cba's in the last. He's a gun, just tidy that disposal up.

Just have concerns in a closer contested style of game he might give us a 30, really didnt do much in the heat of that first half.

12 touches in the last quarter for Macrae, I wouldn't call it junk time touches, he just never saw much in the 1st half and got cba's in the last. He will not throw 30's that's for sure. @Shaunpro1 @kennychao
He had 10 uncontested possessions so he wasnt exactly winning the tough footy at the centre bounce, only one possie in the centre square aswell, might be being a bit harsh but I really thought he did nothing special. Screenshot_20210417-004704_AFL.jpg

that's ok, I thought he did ok, considering the amount of pressure WC applied, he'll be better for the run. He has Essendon, GC then North, so we'll see how he progresses.

I don't think we as a people are normally so critical of a rookie's game. Is it because his name is Macrae and he looks a bit like his brother? I'm sorry but he ain't averaging 130 in his first season. Young Jackson averaged 61.4 in his first season. Let's compare him to young Jackson instead.

I took the gamble on Lachlan Jones to plug a leaky defence for this round, it will be interesting to see if he can back it up.
Ability to win a contested situation is always going to bode well for scoring, put his head over the footy and won a contest 4 or 5 times on debut against the best side in the comp, ball use was woeful and he still got to 61 upside is huge and should be alot more likely to stay in the side with their injuries.
