Hope everyone has enjoyed the start to round 5. I certainly have. With onlt Steele and Grundy playing its been a refreshingly low stress Thurs/Fri combination especially with no one reallt punishing me for non ownership.

Of course that all changes today. Im pumped to see Cox, Perkins and Reid on the field at the same time tonight up at the Gabba, but more pertinent is my trades for R5.

Ive resolved to punt Caleb Daniel, but need 2 trades to make it worthwhile. Waterman comes in, but im utterly stuck on who else to trade out. The candidates are:

Bruhn, Jordon, Fullarton, Kozi.

I hate trading out rookies on the bubble but Bruhn doesnt really look like getting a game. Fullarton has poor SP and now McStay is back possibly bad JS, Jordons TOG is a worry, but at least has been playing although i have no idea if he gets dropped this week. Kozi may play more but it looks like his ceiling is pretty low.

Obviously Jordon gives me the most flexibility for the 2nd trade in, but all will let me get Mills for Daniel who is my likely target. Jordon just brings Boak et all into the mix. I could also go a week early for Jones to build a warchest but im not thrilled having 400k bank not earning points, but at least i would get Jones points and have a week to assess my oreferred premo.

So, long story short: who gets cut today??

I’m comparing him to actual rookies, I don’t see why they wouldn’t keep playing him considering more seasoned players aka Sier / Brown / Daicos didn’t do much better (stats, and in game)

18 disposals in a losing team, in his first game of footy, that’s a solid effort
he was also off the ground for large periods in the 1st half, like Buckley had his best side and was reluctant to bring him on when they were dominating. He only got a proper go late 3rd and got cba's in the last. He's a gun, just tidy that disposal up.
He had 10 uncontested possessions so he wasnt exactly winning the tough footy at the centre bounce, only one possie in the centre square aswell, might be being a bit harsh but I really thought he did nothing special. View attachment 28764
When looking at Macrae and Grundy scores, both would be under for their game contribution. With the match turning Eagles way in quarter 2/3, the weighting of one or both of these quarters would have been high. Both were relatively quieter through those quarters. Grundy was massive Q1 however this was skewed down as Pies led that quarter, Macrae did well last quarter when game had already blown out beyond 15 points.

Positive on Macrae is he is a elite runner so him being held back early in the game is a Bucks impact not a fitness issue. Shouldn't be the rookie who has 65% TOG. Outside player is going to limit his scoring as is his DE in the 60% range. Looks to be a 50-65 player in a normal week.

All players look diluted by the chipping game of the Eagles, never seen them play keep it off in the back line to such an extent. Duggan, Witherden and McGovern all 130-146pts is unheard of.

Dom Sheet 28 possessions @ 75% and 3 goals just over 100 looked a little low. Suggests Q2 received the up weighted quarter as he had his 3 goals in Q3.

Macrae on the watch list.

Waterman in likely today. Also, looking at @nicohighscore on supercoachdata site, my team is ranked in the top 35 for team value overall, good early sign.

So close yet so far really...

Through the end of R4 my ruck line of Flynn, Meek, Fullarton (who covered Flynn last week) has net 307+40+227=574 points.

That's 71pts per player, per week.
Only Gulden and Warner as pure rookies have net more points on field.

Grundy and Gawn have been good but you'd still have been better placed for points and dollars taking Steele and Macrae instead.

So until the teams dropped yesterday it's been far from an out and out disaster.

Suddenly though we've got zero playing rucks and all the numerical advantage in the world can't save us :(.

Trade, trade, rebuild, rebuild. So close yet so far.

Looking at their draw, probably around their byes there will be a lot of talk about him getting sacked. Pies have a few easy games coming up, but if they don't win them, he'll be under massive pressure.
Collingwood’s list is paper thin.

Won’t win 4 games for the season.....it’s so obvious.
