Hard to say without seeing your team but if you are like most teams in struggling for coverage in defence the option 2 stands out especially with Berry out this week & some talk that Campbell will get rested.

Luke Ryan at 540k or Jake Lloyd at 590k?
Ryan. Lloyd is at $596k with a b/e of 154. Wait a few weeks and get him cheaper. Ryan $543k and b/e of 92.
FWIW, i have Howe who i need to trade out and Ryan is coming in for him this week. I'll still be copping a donut (also have Ridley, Highmore and Briggs...:(). Also have Hickey but thank the Lord that Flynn is back and i can deal with him in the coming weeks.

Agree.

Also with Griffin Logue back to lockdown on the opposition's key fwd, it allows Ryan to zone off more as an intercept defender - it was very evident last week v the crows how much it allowed Ryan to back himself in to win the ball with Logue back in the team.

Thanks for the take. I've got just one premium spot to fill in Def but can swing Laird to mids if/when I eventually get Lloyd. Would rather add another quality defender than a desperation rookie to avoid a donut.

If he was a defender I would and still might if I don't have a donut in the backline. Would appear to be a safer pick than Mansell given the Colliwobbles.
It's probably a choice between Mcreery this week and Macrae next week for a lot of coaches, especially if they're looking at multiple donuts in the back line.

Had a solid reminder about being wary of young Bulldogs players with Bevo striking by leaving Lewis Young out, after what looked to me to be a decent game at on the half-back line last week.

Considering the carnage I was facing in the backs (Ridley, Jones, Highmore), I traded out Ridley moved Laird to the backline and brought in Oliver.

Not what I wanted to do but it helped my structure and covered a donut.
I like your thinking, these are the types of left field moves I like to see and can give you big gains in rounds like these. 👍

2. Stewart a very solid option in defence and Mansell should be serviceable as a D6/D7. Disappointing start by Kelly considering his lofty standards but would only trade if he suffers a long term injury or if necessary to plug other holes (via a downgrade).

Howe to Luke Ryan I reckon, low of 84 high of 134 after five games, as good a trend as any!

Not sure about a second trade, definitely going to have to hold Ridley, will need three out of Kosi, Cox, Butts and Highmore to play or it’s donut city.
