I prefer Treacy over Mansell because Treacy can eventually hide at R3 as a DPP swing option when Flynn is ready to trade out. Unfortunately, Mansell is stuck in Defence where bench cover is already questionable.

Who do you downgrade Flynn to if you don't get Treacy now? I don't own Fullarton anymore, so my trade out options are extremely limited. Jordon Sweet or Nick Bryan could be an option possibly, but neither are DPP.

My main concern is whether I am able to carry a Waterman & Treacy forward bench (with Rowe F6 currently) for the next 4-5 weeks until Flynn is ready to trade out (best case assuming no more Mumford interruptions).
We all consider Treacy to be a poor scorer and ultra slow burn if he can even hold his spot in the team. Therefore why is it necessary to bring him in before you need to downgrade Flynn or before Marshall is ready to get. If you think you will need the trade spot later and it may cost you grabbing a good rookie on the bubble. Then bring him in now.
I agree with @Crowls regarding unnecessarily bringing Treacy in before Flynn is ready to trade out and Marshall to get in. I would rather pay the15K more for Shannon Neale and profit the money that Mansell will make.
I own Fullerton and I am looking at him as a Cash Cow (hoping he plays more games), so I am not counting on him to replace Flynn.

I don't know what is going to happen in the future, but I know that now, money making is a priority.

Exact same situation for me, who knows, Treacy still may be sitting around (or cheaper) than those other alternatives at $117k if he puts in a score similar to what he's produced so far, and finds himself dropped/managed/rested, etc. Next week. You just don't know.

Yeah I wouldn't bother with Treacy if I owned Fullarton.

It could be annoying being forced to pick up Shannon Neale at an awkward time though - like what if Steele bottoms out at 550K one week for example and Flynn is the only rookie with enough value in your team to reach him. Then Downie is on the bubble that same week after scoring back to back 90s. You really want to bring in Downie & Steele, but you have to get Shannon bloody Neale instead or miss one.....

Also whose to say Mansell even makes enough to trade out? He might only make it to 200k at best - are you really gonna use a trade on cashing him out to make just 70-100k in the middle of upgrade season?

for some people Mansel may have to do as a D6 for that time he makes that 90k

Surely Mansell isn't a viable on-field option for those chasing overall?
I'd expect Highmore/Kosi/Mansell could become a common D6-D8 in the short term. It's pretty hard to correct Kosi and Highmore up.

Are you expecting teams to run 6 deep in defence?

Think Chapman is a fairly common D6. Bringing Mansell in would give me the D6-8 that you mention, and that prospect is enough for me to avoid him.

Yes you wouldn't ideally want 2 def rookies on field. So basically you would expect Chapman or Mansell will be a common D6 starter. Chapman 54 last round, Mansell 50. It may not end up being a huge "penalty" starting Mansell.

Not at all. But many people are 4 deep such as myself. I'm wanting Ridley and Daniel at their cheapest soon. I wanted to bring in oliver or Steele this week but now I have the 3 donut DEF. I think many are in the same boat and dont know until Sunday if some selections help. Can bring in Ryan and forget the mid upgrade but dont like paying $540 for him. Probably makes better sense than relying on Mansell and being stuck with him.

Yeah, probably true. Definitely depends on your team. My problem with ending up with those three as my D6-8 is that it's hard to see when I can extricate myself from the spot. When is one of them going to be a good trade out? At least with Chapman at D6 if he turns out to be a 50 player from here he is a tradeable price already. If Mansell goes at 50s from here (and Kosi reverts to his previous levels or gets dropped) you might be waiting till the byes before even one of them is a half-decent trade-out option. That's a long time to carry that kind of weakness at the end of the DEF line.

I think we are all wanting a cheap defender to present up as startable or Highmore to come back.

Clark coming back would also ease pressure at D6 for some.

Some teams are also weak at F6 and desperately wanting a bench player to get a spike score.

Geez the Danger trade has me seriously stumped this week. Can make a case for 8 or so different options and having a lot of trouble narrowing them down!
Could trade for value and pocket some cash to help future upgrades.. aim for a clear top player across any position.. try and split the difference.. or just curl up in a ball and cry. Leaning towards the last one..

On a serious note, I've probably narrowed it down to Oliver, Neale, Ryan, Dusty as the "top few" for their positions, or Hind, Freo Brayshaw, Bolton as some of the value picks.. or Sidebottom, Zorko, TGreene as something a little in between.

Would love any thoughts or ideas - open to anything and not overly fussed if I have 1 donut down back (may bring in Mansell if I'd have too but waiting on teams tonight and a decision on the Danger trade).

Cheers!

Ps. I've used 4 trades and have 38k in the bank if that matters.

Team looks a bit like mine (and a lot of others I guess) down back. If Jordan Clark is not named he's out for Mansell - can't have that amount of cash sitting around generating donuts, otherwise he can stay and score another 60 odd.

I tried to see if you could go Clark + Danger -> two 'nearly' premiums but the best I could wrangle was Freoshaw and Hunter Clark .
Doesn't quite seem worth the two trades and I think you'd be better off with a gun mid and a downgrade.

Hey mate,

The way I see it based on who you currently have on field the following are possibly 0's Clark, Highmore (plus Ridley and Sharp) I guess you will know tonight about Clark, but let's say for now 2 0's on DEF line. MID, given Gulden plays no 0's, but no bench with Scott on field for Berry. FWD possible 1 0 if Campbell is rested although it is possible Fullarton comes in if McInerney misses.

The other problem I guess is you have no cash with only 38k, but Danger's value is valuable.

I really don't know, but I think if selection goes your way and Campbell plays I would nealy go Danger to 'Keeper' DEF (Ryan, Rich etc) and Clark to Mansell to give your some cash to work with next week.

Hasn’t been much talk of Jackson Prior from Lions. Defender 123k on the bubble. An option. Will know tonight if named. 2 goals last week. Has blues this

Like the thinking, but IMO scratchy JS and has been named sub once before. Don't think I would take that risk.
