Murphy was very good to the eye but it just looked like Jeremy Howe's role to me, not sure he holds a spot long term or if he does a role change is likely.
Pretty sure he was more of a winger, with Madgen sliding back this week. Was extremely good in the first half, but faded (like a lot of Pies).

I kept Neale through thick-and-thin all this year... and this is how he repays the faith.
With a 2 month ankle injury at the same time that Dunkley does his shoulder.

Injuries to date this year:
-Fyfe
-Butters
-Neale
-Hickey (double trade as I brought him in the week he sustained his injury)
-Dunkley
Have missed the Dangerfield debacle, but been hit with most of the other commons ones.

I would appreciate assistance with my next 2 trades, $639k in the bank (I know - far too much to have in the bank, but I was hoping for a double upgrade this week).

Ideally, I would be culling two rookies this week and double upgrading Chapman > Rich/Lloyd, and Campbell > Boak/Oliver/Brayshaw
I also still have Hickey - my worst decision of the season  was bringing in Hickey instead of Grundy .

However, now I need to sideways Dunkley and Neale, as I can't have a combined $2 mill sitting on the bench+bank.

The question is do I side-ways swap Dunkly and Neale, or do I upgrade Hickey > Grundy and/or Chapman > Rich/Lloyd to plug the other holes in this team?

I wish I had 4 trades! :cautious:

Surprised there wasn't more discussion about Dev Robertson (225K) as a trade in option last week. Probably too high now, though I expect his JS will go up with Neale's injury. If it does I think he is a +70 point player who will be ripe during the byes.
I think there was some concern over his JS, as he was in and out of the side for Berry.
But with Neale down it seems like there could be a solid place for him in the team and I'm seriously looking at him instead of Finn Macrae to bolster the forward line.

Looking at that situation I think you are probably looking at 5 or 6 fairly obvious targets to trade in:
  • Grundy for R2
  • Ridley for D1 (in a few weeks)
  • Lloyd to shore up that DEF line
  • Gun mids (110+) to replace Dunkley and Neale: Oliver, Walsh, Bont and Steele
So I would make a plan about how you are going to get those players into your side and the order you should do it in (price, upcoming matchups, donut exposure etc.)

Might mean holding one of Dunkley/Neale for a week if Flynn is dropped and you need to cover a ruck, or if a DEF rookie is dropped and you need to upgrade there first instead.

dunkley + gulden -> walsh + jakey stringer

gotta risk it, looking at stringers next couple opposition, if he doesnt get injured and gets a couple cbas he should go 90+ next 5 weeks

but also could just potato and screw my whole season

That's a fantastic team - well done on avoiding the injuries, or trading them out already! I can't believe you have Ridley AND Lloyd and also Grawndy. You've picked immensely well my friend.

Dunkley trade to another mid-premium is the obvious first trade. Walsh would bank you some cash, so would Boak.

The other trade would be a rookie downgrade.
Gulden has a BE of 78 which is why most coaches are downgrading him to Macrae (Pies).
Would leave you with $262k bank for an upgrade/downgrade next week if you wanted.

Is Fakerae worth going for over a double upgrade? Need to clear some of these sh!t rookies off field.

I'm not sure myself, he has two quite good games coming up and injuries do seem to be an issue for the Pies right now. If I I was picking a bubble cow on displayed pure ability it would be Farrar, but obviously the price is an issue.

Hey All

Longtime listener, first time caller. There's some great inputs on this site, and wanted to it's been really helpful just browsing through and soaking up peoples thoughts.

My question:
I've got the Dunkley out thing this week too. But am thinking of using my other trade to sort out my Def for the season.
Have got Ridley, Stewart, Laird, Short, Jiath and Chapman (1-6) as it stands. Seeing Chapman's BE go up I'm thinking of upgrading Chapman to a D5.
Options look like one of: Mills - Seems the obvious choice, but has burnt me in previous years, you see him as a definite Premo now?
Lloyd - Has the pedigree but is 50k more
Salem - Has runs on the board this year and is the cheapest on a performance/cost basis. Can he keep it up?
Daniel - Has been awful, but is cheap, and was rightly considered a premo at the start of the season, Can he turn it around?

Who'd you plump for?

Cheers

Quickly losing the fun aspect of this game this season. I feel as if I just CBF'd anymore because no matter what I do there is always something that happens that screws my team over completely.

FWIW, really looking for advice this week for the rubbish team below:

Only 24 trades and 6k left.
Have to trade Dunkley and Neale which puts my rookie upgrade plans in ruins.

Can anyone please advise what are some options to consider this week? And which players should I target in the coming weeks to get the rookies off the field?
Really don't know what good trade targets are anymore.

Thanks in advance

Looks like most are considering a 'double up' (using Dunks), ignoring FMacrae on the bubble?
Trading out Dunkley and Gulden this week, have about 1.3 mil to spend (330k in the bank), so can grab any 2 players in the game across midfield and forward.

In what order would you guys rank the 4 players I'm considering in terms of trade in priority?
- Clayton Oliver
- Marcus Bontempelli
- Steele Sidebottom
- Dayne Zorko

I can write up a somewhat in-depth analysis on Sidebottom, and maybe a few supporters of Melb/WBD/Brisbane can do the same?

Dunkley & Neale > Lloyd & Macrae

Only issue is i will need to field both Rowe & Scott in the forwards for a week and I will have no cash for upgrades next week

Sidebottom , Zorko in the forwards.

Martin & Marshall dropping , Heeney.

Would need to check BE and projections to work out the best time to cash in.

May in defence

Use Dunkley's money to fund another upgrade next round.

Flynn keeps playing his money gets you 2 upgrades (Powell & JordOn)

Just need to look for the value when it presents , would gladly swap sides.
