Own both dunkley and neale. I'm looking at a different route to most. Maybe brayshaw and parish in. Or boak. It adds to the change I have then the following week can still afford to trade gulden to one of Oliver or steele. Concerned with the amount of trades used and realistically can't fill my team with all 600k players. So searching for value and hoping those chasing the expensive guys fall short at then end fielding unreliable rookies or even worse cheaper options than those 2
Seeking value is always an important consideration in fantasy. In a season like this with cash gen issues and players going down left and right, along with all our bench donuts I think it makes particular sense.

For me the current must haves post Dunkley are just Ridley (now or after further price drops), Macrae, Ziegull, Gawn and Grundy. Others like Oliver, Walsh, Bont, Lloyd, Stewart, Steele are more nice to haves than essential right now imo.

So looking at players like Brayshaw, May, McDonald, Impey, Heeney (after he bottoms out), perhaps Parish (although I'm not personally sold just yet) does seem a valid strategy, especially if it means you can get any extra spud rookie off your park earlier than other coaches.

Thoughts on when to cash in Flynn?

Was expecting him to rise to $400k eventually but Mumford complicates things?
He played well last Friday vs the Dogs, not really reflected in his SC score. Mumford will be in and out of that team no doubt - if Flynn is your R3 there is no issue. I'm keeping Flynn probably until just past the byes, still has a lot of cash to make.

At least 2 more price rises, maybe 3. Then he will have made 90-95% of his max cash I would think and then the only question is whether you hold him longer for cover purposes. But I think most coaches will get impatient on wanting to do upgrades so I doubt he will still be in many sides by the end of May.

Also thoughts on Boak vs Oliver? Prefer these 2 over Bont, Treloar, Gutherie, Mundy, Lyons etc.

I definitely expect Oliver to average more, but both cost & bye structure favours Boak.

Do we expect tags to come for Boak this year?

Is this my opportunity to get Gawn at R2 via Dunkley?

Really wanted to bin Cripps for Walsh this week...

Would love some thoughts here.

I look back now on Rd 4 when Daniel got 19points and suspended for a week. Looked at prem and value options and was encouraged to grab Gawn while I could. Since then Gawn 172, 147 (C) and weekly C option. The relief over having Gawn, able to focus back on structure of the team etc is enourmous. Also based on Daniels average I am still ahead on points as well. Lesson learned, when possible get the SuperPrem if it is killing you not having them. Also one of my options was Hickey instead of Gawn and he was injured that week as well and I escaped big time.

What are you guys doing about Warner and Powell?

I'm at least holding Powell throughout the byes due to scoring and JS, not sure if I should do the same with Warner or cash him in early to bring in other premiums

Thing is with Warner is who are you upgrading him to in the forward line? There aren't many options. If its a midfielder via DPP that's a better call. Warner actually played well the other day as well, he just butchered the ball a bit early which affected his score. He has a good role playing inside mid, even if they're apparently using him as a tagger here and there as they did the other day with Miller after quarter time. Swans do have two bad matchups coming up however, though things do lighten up a little running into their bye.

Nope, plenty of M/Fs, can upgrade anywhere.

Even in forward line, I'm eyeing Martin at 430-460k ish in a couple of weeks.

Unless he goes big this week I'm trading him after this round. His first game looks like an outlier and his cash will probably slow down. The cash he is holding will be worth more in a fresh cow or a premium's scoring.

Dunkley > Duncan/Guthrie, Gulden > Walsh

First upgrade of the year. 2k short of getting Oliver instead of Walsh. Finally get some more firepower in my weak midfield. Now to fix the 10 other problems with my team...
Love the Walsh pick, was the only player who has never left my team since preseason.

Not sure about Duncan/Gutherie tho, both look extraordinary, but the lack of true midfield history for both leaves me lacking confidence. I think I just prefer Boak instead if you can't afford Oliver. Even Treloar is worth a look, personally ruled him out based on bye structure though.

Ye this round will be important in deciding how long he stays. Really needs a 90 for me to regain my patience, especially considering the expected games he will miss when Mumford returns.

Not that useful as cover throughout the byes either, missing the first game, Gawndy both playing the 2nd game, and the last bye round being relatively light on premiums.

Probably prefer to keep Warner instead of Flynn what do you think?

Literally $300 off getting Oliver instead of Duncan/Guthrie. So annoying.

I'm not entirely sold on them either but there aren't many other options. Duncan has averaged 109 in the past and if you take out his injury-affected 13 last year he averaged 110. Don't see why he can't replicate that this year. I think Boak's last 3 weeks are more reflective of where he'll end up this year - 103-108. Treloar is building nicely I have to admit. I'd look at Lloyd but I already have a full backline. Forward options aren't inspiring - will wait for Marshall.

Do I trade Clark or Gulden this week?

I really like the look of Clark if he can get a string of games. The issue with Clark is I need to commit to him to the byes I think to see it pay off given his bloody Emg Sub 13 last week. $#^%$%*^( Scott. However his D/M link with Laird offers some benefit as well trading down the track.
Of course managing the "Scott" factor is a total mess anyway. Bloody sure him and Horse laugh between themselves when they catch up and talk Supercoach coaches that they f**(ed over..
