Tough one as Macrae is averaging 140 over the last 3 weeks and against a side that leaks midfield points but can't go past Grundy VC vs ruckless Suns into Gawn who usually smashes North and is averaging 141 for the whole season.

Bonking on the head the theory that "Richmond give up big points to midfielders". Perhaps they did in the past. Below I have collected data from all the significant performances from opposition midfielders in 2021, either in terms of disposals or SC points.

RD 1

Walsh, 31d 122 SC

RD 2

Titch, 37d 109 SC

RD 3

Parker, 29d 120 SC
Mills, 31d 109 SC

RD 4

Wines, 27d 106 SC
Boak, 29d 84 SC

RD 5

Clark, 33d 113 SC

RD 6

Petracca, 38d 133 SC
Oliver, 36d 114 SC
Langdon, 32d 82 SC

While I fully expect Macrae to get 40 disposals and 145 points tonight, this is enough evidence for me to go Grundy into Gawn, rather than Macrae into Grundy. Grundy could go 160+ against a ruckless GCS.

Good take.

Richmond haven't been giving up as big points, but are still giving away plenty of disposals.

They will also now be missing Lambert and Dusty.

Hard to take a decent VC score with Grundy looming as a monster option this week.

Historically Richmond dont give up to mids, has loosened up a bit lately. great post, agree, looking at Hickey and Sweet with 64% TOG for 73, think Grundy should be decent.
