Like others, I'm a little undecided on trades this week.
Dunkley the only real issue coupled with too many non-playing benchies and one or two poor scores on the ground.
Common sense says replace Dunkley like for like but the problem many are grappling with is there are no obvious forward premos screaming "pick me, pick me". Most are tossing up between Zorko and Sidey and you'd have to think one or both of them are possible top 6 FWDs come seasons end but there are also a lot of question marks.
The other option is to trade to a mid (eg Walsh) but for me it then leaves my forward line exposed with no genuine premos (putting aside Ziebell and Imp who have stepped up but could fall away at some point).
I'm starting to lean towards taking two cheapies for Dunkley and Berry/Dow. I like Farrar as an option (over Atu). He appears to have a decent role and is 25. My only query is who he came in for and whether he's at risk making way for that player. He and Corbett came in for Ballard and Lemmens (both injured at the time). Ballard and Lemmens then came back in for Harbrow and McPherson the following week. It feels like a bit of a restructure so it's difficult to say which playing he's keeping out.
I'm also strongly considering getting Jordon who is the one rookie I've missed but is still value at $241k and a BE of -16. He's played every game and other than the one blip, has been solid. He's in the same bracket at Robertson but I prefer Jordon's JS. Robertson probably has the slightly better upside for scoring.
My other consideration (as much as it pains me) is bring Daniher back in. As commented during the week, with McStay now back Joe is being used much more as a ruck and has clearly added to his scoring over the past two weeks in that role. Season average of 71 but the last two rounds he's averaged 100. Current BE of -4 he is a genuine value option as a stepping stone or possibly a long term semi-keeper
Taking that approach gives me a decent war chest for the following weeks and deals with the the poorly performing on-field rookies.
