ROUND 7
Josh Dunkley ---> Dayne Zorko

Now just need to fully settle on my trade out for my second trade, where I'll be bringing in Sam Walsh.

Out of these three, I need to trade one...

Sam Berry
Erroll Gulden
Braeden Campbell

Would anyone trade differently than Campbell being the one to go?
Gulden playing, has two hard games and the question is whether his drop off in scoring is a function of weariness and he needs a break.

Campbell has potn to make more money too, getting a rest, although omitted not managed, so may not be back soon. Berry playing and manageable BE, so keep.

Whilst I am going Gulden, that is a function of I need his value. Some respects would prefer to trade BC, hope Gulden gets rested next week and he becomes a viable scorer over next month, giving bench depth. Lots of if's.

Man haven’t been this undecided in a while.
Meitner going
meek > hickey/mummy (Flynn on bench)
or gulden > freeshaw but Will cop a ruck donut

Make a decision son, I need to know who I am playing!

SCS Final Siren match up Herbie. You need to sort your rucks out, that is the priority, dont even look other lines.

Probably Grundy and Mumford, cannot be copping a donut in rucks and I like the hedge with holding Flynn/Mumford. Hopefully Briggs is not seen any time soon and you get to maintain slow cash build on Fynn.

With Boak and Martin on the sidelines, use weeks like this to have no pressure and reset the team for the next 2/3 of the year.

Only issue is how do you liquidate Flynn in time as Mummy not an option without him. If Thilthorpe keeps getting games and justified 200k, then I would suggest him and Marshall look ok. However, expect Thilthorpe is a 60 player at best.

Don't really worry about League match ups but will make a exception for you 😀

Still have 4 hours to decide whether Dunkley becomes O'Brien or Grundy so plenty of time yet

I do like the idea of Mumford & Flynn together and milk Flynn as long as possible (fortunately have Fullarton to move into R3 if and when necessarily , see how Bryan performs or watching Martin last night , Sweet could be back).

Given the lack of $$$ some of my other bench options are going to give me I really need Flynn to get to about $ 425k , based on stop start so far that might be a long way off.

Doubtful Thilthorpe is kicking 5 goals each week , so be curious to see what is scoring becomes.

Happy to wait and see on Marshall with Ryder back.

Not sure when the mid season draft is but maybe GCS give us a cheap R3 that is viable as well.

Anyone passing up Facrae/Farrar/Atu and going early on someone instead? If so, who?

I know it is wrong but I am giving serious consideration to trading in Mummy. I took on the Rucks this year (and failed) and I am so far in I may as well keep going.

Will be a long few hours contemplating this trade.

I guess I was just saying I was skipping Macrae.
Probably not a terrible call. I don't think he's an outstanding rookie, especially under Bucks. I reckon I'll take him as best of a bad bunch all factors considered. If Farrar was the same price I'd take him.

Any thoughts on trading Rowe over Gulden (both on field)?
Home game for Rowe so should be his up week, playing GWS and BE of 31.

Totally get why we all feel bad trading Gulden an if there is a way to preserve I would. Having said that, he could have a 50, bleed further and have another tough game. Would have preferred if he is rested as usually it takes that for a player to rebound.

Jordon seemed different as he was played out of position for one week and the coach admitted that. Haven't watched enough Swans games to gauge if this is the same for Gulden, seems to be more forward and Swans not dominating lately.

.
ha ha, that made me laugh. Yeah, the SCS leagues are fun for engagement, however, dont hang my hat on those games, cash leagues the key for me. appreciate you are overall.

Yeah, when I looked at ruck options I couldn't easily see an alternative, except for Hickey. Flynn unreliable as a back up if Hickey injured. Actually makes sense to look at Mummy, hope you get 2 x 110 scores then a Flynn 70 when he has a break. Quite clear GWS feel the need to play him more.

what stuns me is they dont try to play both at the same time and manage him like WCE does NN. may decrease both scoring would be a lesser issue.

I was actually prepared to wait a round and see how Sinclair , Phillips and to a lesser degree Thilthorpe went this round , eat another 🍩 (bring in Brayshaw for Gulden as planned) then move Meek on next round.

How quickly that changed with Hickey returning and Phillips being injured.

Bryan maybe worth monitoring , but then Draper returns.

Not sure how Zac Smith went in the ruck last night against Cox & Lynch.

If the Giants are keen on playing Mumford , I would just play him in home games , not sure if that helps/hinders Flynn's development or not though and whether it affects the midfield too much.

No bench playing again this round (carrying Boak & Martin) so hard to maintain much excitement/interest for the remainder of this season.

Just spent an hour looking at price projections for my rookies and no idea how on earth to fund 7 future upgrades.

Going to go O'Brien instead of Grundy and see how that works out.

May & Heeney on the horizon , but may need to go as far as de Goey , Brown & Rozee as well 😀

I will have to check out our H2H during the rest of the round now.

Good reasoning. I worry GWS defence is pretty good, Rowe didn’t even get 31 last week, and Gulden has shown he can go large and reset his BE. But probably better to trade Gulden as you’ve outlined.

At 414k Caleb Daniel looking like a cheap upgrade option to move Laird to the midfield?

Currently already have Ryan Ridley Short Stewart Laird and Lloyd back there
If things pan out and yiu don't get any further injuries down back then you're committing to Laird at M7-8.

Something to consider at least.

I see a lot jumping on F Macrae, are we expecting an improvement in scoring? What factors have coaches leaning towards him? Is he just the best option of the lower priced rookies?
bit late now, but the only reason i grabbed him is that it got me enough money in bank to upgrade next week

350k sitting there allowing an easy rookie to premo upgrade

wouldve rathered atu or farrar

but also cant see macrae scoring less than last week, played terribly in a losing team

Sorry if it's already been covered but does anyone have any info/thoughts re Poulter for the Pies. Dual position M/F at a slightly cheaper price than F. Macrae and named in the guts. On debut today so we've still got time if he goes ok but balancing the risk of going early on him re a trade like F. Macrae at a similar price (who hasn't set the world on fire) and the higher priced Bosenavulagi/Farrah & Robertson.

Yeah, get the enthusiasm side of it. I had a stinker last year due to ruck issues, however, learnt some valuable lessons by fighting back and doing things I wouldn't necessarily. Part of the reason I moved Neale on this year in round 3 and started Gawndry.

My suggestion is firstly reset your targets for the year, aim for something achievable.

I do focus on leagues and set the target to win the bottom 8 final and top 10k overall, which I won the GF only because I managed to keep 1 trade spare which I dont normally. only finished 22k, however, felt I had momentum at end of the year.

Second is focus on injured players during the season like you are, such as May, Houston, Heeney who present some value. Brayshow ok except when he gets tagged. Ignore injury riddled players to reduce trades, no Fyfe type players. Possibly JDG. A team of 500k players in the mid is not so bad either, just get rooks off field and get consistent players.

ROB a good choice. Just need to get rucks who can constantly deliver. hope it works out Herbie.
