Still planning to trade out Walker for Murphy, was going to be Fred.
May end up with a donut on my FWD line, but I'll keep telling myself it's best for the long run. o_O

Not much love for Thilthorpe?
Can anyone provide any insight? Job security and scoring potential?
Don’t know anything about him, but considering trading him for the ruck/fwd

I have Treacy at F8 so the plan would be Treacy to R3 then Flynn cash to bring in Marshall in fwd line. In the second half of the season this could provide ruck coverage although it is a bugger they all share the same bye round. Wish Flynn would play. Only need one more fair effort to get him over 300k. Then you can pull the trigger.

For me I'm going to hold Flynn, there's just so few avenues to raising upgrade cash right now and that extra amount he makes (hopefully!) will be very helpful. Mumford isn't exactly durable at this stage of his career although admittedly Preuss does loom over the whole thing. Preuss should be pretty close to playing as soon as he gets the all clear from the doctors given its a shoulder and his fitness should be reasonable as a result.

I think the latest injury report had Preuss 3-5 weeks away.

Hopefully Flynn plays Round 9.

Mumford Round 10 & 11.

They have the Bye in Round 12

If Mumford plays 13 & 14 , Flynn might be ready by then , so next week might be the last we see of Flynn.

But will their be anyone worthwhile to downgrade to ? if it's Round 10 , need a debutant this round.

Otherwise you might have to go up if you already have a F/R eg Flynn - > Martin

I heavily considered him this week - he'll actually save you a trade if you have no current FWD/RUC DPP player and you also have Flynn, ie you can use Thilthorpe to realise the Flynn cash in a few rounds time. If you have Marshall as a "must have" in coming rounds I think you should also very heavily consider Thilthorpe this round and you'll have that sweet sweet RUC/FWD DPP cover ROS.

I think his JS is actually pretty good - he might get managed at some stage but the Crows are really trying to feature him. I honestly don't think his scoring potential is that great however - he's just going to be reliant on service from his teammates in a team that isn't that flush with talent right now. Their draw is also pretty awful next month or so and he's not exactly cheap. Those are the reasons I passed on him this week.

Sweet is apparently playing on Sunday, its only his second game AND apparently he'll get the majority of the ruck duties. HOWEVER you'd have to trade out Flynn (if that is your aim this round) before the teams are announced, and honestly I wouldn't take the risk, having said that you do seem to have a lot of testicular fortitude. Bigger kahunas than I do anyway.

They said on our News during the week that English was missing again.

I have Fullarton so the plan will be to trade Flynn out to ??? and then move Fullarton to R3 , hoping to bring in Marshall next round.

My Flynn money is needed to upgrade Mumford so will need to find someone worth downgrading too.

Be interesting though if the Bulldogs stuck with Sweet instead of Martin as the number one ruck when English returns.

The other option could be to see who the Sun's pick up in the mid season draft especially if Zac Smith can't string enough games together.

So you need a FWD, what about the guys in your own team? I didn't see the Pies play last week so didn't see Poulter. Ollie Henry is playing his second game, but TBH looked not up to scratch when he debuted. THLCT's list in the rookie thread is worth looking at. Owies probably the best of those that have only played one game, but that's the problem, they aren't on the bubble.

Just toying with ideas...
Cash gen is tricky with rookies going nowhere - do I trade Warner to Buddy (BE of 1, Collingwood next week) to try and generate some extra team value?

Could spike up $120k in a few weeks, which is as much as most of these rookies are doing. Or could get injured and leave me with more problems .

Wasn't that impressed with Collier-Dawkins last night , so Poulter is on the watch list as a mid along with Byrnes

What does Owies score when he doesn't kick 3 goals a game ?

But you are right , it's all about timing.

Might get one more cash rise out of Flynn (if he plays Round 9) then still be waiting weeks for a viable downgrade target.

Need to downgrade though to get cash for upgrades.

Agree with BBS, JS good and supply may improve when Sloane back.

Note game 1 he had a strong 1H, then they tightened up on him and a very quiet 2H. 2nd game a 56, so probably could be the norm. Potential to be score high although their run is very hard short term, so if getting him in, it is because of what you want in 5-10 games.

$200k mid season a tricky as we are working hard to generate $100-150k and so sucking up $80k of capital is likely putting you back a fair bit in an environment where incoming rookies are poor and rare and rookies to be culled are circa $200-230k.

As I crunch it some more, Warner to a FWD premium will cost 1 trade and maybe $150k. Was planning to do it in R14 to sidestep the bye, so it's a guarantee trade effectively.

If I go Warner -> Buddy -> Premium I get whatever price rise I can out of Franklin for the cost of one trade. People seem pretty happy to trade in Murphy to score 50s: at $123k he makes about that again... eventually. One more decent score in the next two games and Buddy will generate that in 3 weeks.

I'm talking myself into it! What could go wrong? Buddy gets injured and scores 10: still only costs the one trade because of the low BE and Warner was going to go anyway.

Risk v Reward all over this one.

a brayshaw vs may?

May would be D6 but no ridley. Only way to get Ridley is Laird as a perm mid
This is why I'm passing on May. He's value, but he's not worth forgoing a Ridley or a Lloyd - especially with Ridley bottoming out imminently.
