Quick Thoughts - Lions vs Giants

General - Absolute blowout, Giants just didn't show up at all in the first quarter and game was over from there on, they were better from that point forward but not good. Such a rollercoaster of a side this year, their best is actually really good by relying on effort and when it drops off even a little they've got absolutely no game plan behind them.

Lions - Would be delighted, smashed them off the park and then able to just coast home for 3 quarters with party tricks and all.

Zorko - Dominance, was into junk mode from about 15 minutes into the game and never let up. Loving that my guy I took instead is averaging 115 in the two weeks and has given up almost 100 points...

OMc - Dominated Mummy all day, especially around the ground and especially in Q1.

Rich - Solid given he didn't do a lot.

Lyons - Bit of a down game for him, lack of heat in the game really didn't help his cause.

Clug - Talk about taking your ball and going home. Had 48 about 2 minutes into the 2nd quarter and then did not touch the ball for another 2 quarters and didn't junk either. Should have been right alongside Zorko but the mentality difference between the two is actually startling. Nice guy Clug didn't want to hurt feelings

Robertson - Really solid game for him, good role again.

Madden - Really solid game, used it well, won his contests. Should be an easy selection for the Lions next week.

Daniher - Just didn't get into the smashing as it was more the smalls, kind of ironic given all the focus on how all the KPD were out and then it's the smalls that smash them.

Giants - Embarrassing game for them. One thing to get done but with zero effort like that just hurts.

Taranto - His game actually felt really similar to Bont last night and his ratio was, sadly, pretty much spot on. He was absolutely awful in the first quarter when the game was lost and just absolutely butchered it all night. When he did good things he then did worse things to cancel them. That he kept working to get it to an 87 is actually a credit to him.

Whitfield - Pretty generous ratio for him also, I thought he butchered it in the first quarter but he walked the tight rope of long vs short kicks and got the win on the coin flip on all of them which kept it effective and kept him in the game. Kind of continued all game, for all the touches and space he had he just never seemed to make any kicks that led to anything. The way he's covering ground and demanding the ball is a great sign though, nice week to recover with the bye and then should launch you'd think.

Ward - Solid game from him.

Hopper - Another butcher day for him. He does some really good things but his disposal needs so much work.

Ash - Everywhere, felt like he scored a lot more than he did to me but like Whitfield, nothing he did really led to anything so his ratio felt about right.

Cumming - Thought his ratio was actually a bit rough, couple of great intercept plays, his couple of worst mistakes weren't actually SC bad (spoils when he should have marked that caused goals but in SC they actually score points) and he used the ball very well, he was the one of the three main kickers who actually seemed to hit the key kicks that led to their few scores as well. Played great.

Kelly - Weird game from him. The two goals were good and he won a few clearances but otherwise he was extremely ordinary and his clearances all basically resulted in bad hack kicks forward, which were very lucky to not be clangers, or missed handballs, would love to know the retention rate on his clearances because it felt like maybe 1/6. 10CP felt generous also. The positive though is he worked hard, tackled well and scored very well. Didn't think he played very well though.

Haynes - Had an absolute mare, outmarked by Coleman, of all people, multiple times. No impact in the air all day, couldn't hit a target with the ball.

Flynn - Solid score in the end all things considered. He probably did enough for mine given the lack of other options. Mummy's last couple of games have looked more like the non-revitalised version of Mummy as well. Probably a case that it's time to give Flynn the reigns again as he's outplayed Mummy the last couple of games.

Mummy - Amazing ratio, he was trash today. Absolutely smashed around the ground, felt like he lost all of the clearances in the first quarter when the game was decided. Interesting decision for the Giants coaches with him next game.
With Mummy, I reckon once he has a bad game he should get a rest the next week.

Fan Footy showing him with the bandaid symbol, but can’t see on my phone whether it is a knock or possible injury.

Will get the rest anyway next week.

Was a hamstring issue that seemed more like the coaches asking him to sub out so that Brown could go on for his debut, told them politely to go away and went back on the field.

I'm not sure this week could actually go any worse than it has for me

If you got me to name my most important players that I have and that I don't have, well it would be the same as the list of "guys that scored really badly" and "guys that went huge"...

Only positive of this round is I look like missing my projected score by more than the 220 I missed it last week which is like the achievement you don't want to unlock

North Melb.
Highmore looked nice and involved in the first few mins he was on the field. Then Coffield missed hitting him with the simplest of 15m passes, and he's barely got a look near the footy ever since. Extremely frustrating.
I put highmore on field instead of Jones/Murphy assuming he would get some intercept possessions due to our poor forward entries.
Forward entries have still been poor but Highmore no where near it!

Very similar. Late decision to forgo Zorko hurts, hopefully Mills ok. Macrae means no Jordon and no Macrae 145 x 2, hello Grundy. Taranto with double figure clangers.

Happy with new trade in Whitfield, but thought he could have gone a bit bigger.

Not particularly happy with my Lions Daniher and Andrews, or with Grundy's injury, but at least I locked in Gawn's score rather that rolling the dice.

Projecting about 2000, which remains about my level unfortunately.

Seems like you are still projecting 150 more than me with 2331, doesn't look all that bad a week for you?

Yep...

No Zorko, Bont, Oliver, Steele, Dale, Harmes and Whitfield

Petracca and Taranto instead. Captain Grundy.

To top it off, my keeper league sides also getting smoked (copped Mayne in both of all the potatoes to crush me!).

Bucks press conference, suspected nerve damage for Grundy in the neck and having scans, didn't look very positive about it but also didn't really have anything like "well he's cooked" type to say.

Would think best case it's a pinched nerve which depending on the swelling and what not could actually be nothing long term, going the other way it can be pretty severe so fingers crossed on that one!

Steele only has 1 clanger according to CD ? I must be watching a different game, he's looked like he's butchered 4 or 5 to me.
He's definitely getting some very favourable calls on this one. Had one that bounced past the first 2 Kangas and was then gathered by Goldy that somehow didn't get given a clanger and a couple more debatable ones for mine.
