ROUND 11 REVIEW

R11 Results.jpg

Match of the Round

SuperCoachScores v Ricky Bobby Cross.jpg
Prediction: Ricky Bobby to prove just that tiny bit too strong and win by 44
Result: Wow... A sensational performance by Coach Jay this week to totally blew all predictions out of the water... storming to his fifth win out of the last six matches. Every POD fired for SuperCoachScores in this match-up and unfortunately for Coach James, a few of his POD's didn't show up. But that wouldn't have even made a difference this week, There was going to be no stopping the rampaging SuperCoachScores. A performance that well and truly lived up to match of the round status.

Other Matches

Beasts FC v The Darkness Cross.jpg
Prediction: The Darkness to once again put the foot down and win by 89
Result: Another upset with Coach Ben and his Beasts snapping a six game losing streak, and beating The Darkness, who had been in stellar form. Coach Adrian would be dirty at his troops after 4 of 5 of them failed to show the required effort. They got taught a lesson on what happens when they don't show up. For the Beasts, can this be the turning point of the season that gets things back on track?

Courtesans v PC Tick.jpg
Prediction: PC to cause an upset and win in a nail biter by 23
Result: Another match, another upset... Coach Jack played things to perfection this week, A huge performance by new recruit Jack Steele, putting the team on his back and showing them the way to victory... snapping that win-loss-win-loss pattern in the process. Coach Keith would also have a right to feel disappointed in his troops like several of his fellow coaches, as quite a few big names in his team failed to show up... and when that happens, you can't expect to keep cruising to victories. I'm sure Coach Keith gave them a fierce spray after the match.

Pay The Mark v TailsPower Tick.jpg
Prediction: TailsPower to re-join the winners list and have a good win by 98 points
Result: Oh so close for Coach Mark... It was a chance to pull off what would have been one of the biggest upsets in SCS PL history. Coach Adrian left the door open with some below average performances from his stars, but Pay The Mark just came up that little bit too short in the end. It would have been such a great story. This effort against the highly fancied TailsPower can be used as a baseline for all other matches. For Coach Adrian, he can't let complacency slip in. There is top competition at every turn in this league, and he's put a big target on his back with his early domination.

Philzsay v Blaze of Glory X
Prediction: Really tough one to tip but Philzsay for the win by 26 points
Result: We should of seen this coming. Coach Tom is currently the hottest coach in the league, winning his fifth match in a row. The masterstroke of captaining new recruit Jack Steele was enough to get the job done. His team is scorching hot at the moment. Genius coaching. For Coach Phil, he just needs a couple of minor adjustments to the game plan to maximize his chances of victory. I expect him to bounce back next week.

Rons Badboys v GV Vikings FFC Tick.jpg
Prediction: GV Vikings to prove too strong and win by 66 points
Result: Coach Ashley just did what had to be done this week to get the victory against his much younger and less experienced opponents. That more experienced playing list brought the steadying hand and was even able to overcome an in-game injury to his star ruck. For Coach David, He just needs to get a little more experience into his side to match it with the Big Boys. Can't afford to make next week a fourth heavy defeat in a row.

Diabolical Rabble v MADMUNZA Tick.jpg
Prediction: This will go down to the wire, but Diabolical Rabble to come out in front by 10 points
Result: Coach Andrew's troops went in as favorites, and didn't disappoint. Strong performances by all the usual suspects, where enough to get the chocolates. But a horrible trend is now developing of alternating win's and losses. Does this mean good news for this weeks opponents? Coach Matt wouldn't be happy with the performance, some underperforming senior players and an injury to his chosen leader didn't make the task any easier. Maybe a trip to the movies for the playing group would get their minds off the game and improve chemistry and team bonding?

Brownie's Bandits v Goodie's Guns Cross.jpg
Prediction: Goodie’s Guns in an absolute nail biter by 11 points
Result: Yet another upset. Coach Tim didn't do a whole lot wrong this week, He brought in a gun recruit, most of the senior players stood up... but he just wasn't expecting his opposition to be at the absolute top of their game. That effort would have been good enough to win most other matches. So the effort is nothing to worry about, however that is loss number four in a row now... and that is of concern. Coach Iain would be delighted with the effort of his troops, it was unexpected, and he must look into how he prepared this week in the hope of repeating it in future weeks.

Jaca's Attackers v Jibrangers Tick.jpg
Prediction: Jaca’s Attackers in a slight upset to get back on the winners list win by 26 points
Result: Coming up against a red hot Jibrangers, Coach Jason was predicted to cause an upset and it eventuated. A huge game from Jack Steele, and also from new recruit Isaac Heeney led the way for the Attackers. Coach Sho wouldn't be too upset with the loss, as something as simple as locking in a solid VC score would have secured him the win. He'll look to regroup and get back on the winner's list.

A solid 5/9 Predictions this week. It was upsets galore this round and that is always hard to tip.

Just unlucky mate, you got me in the wrong week. I was a bit annoyed I didn't get my vice/capt loophole correct as it would have been top 5 for the round. Made Grundy Captain as somehow couldn't work out how to get my Macrae Vice Score (this will not happen again LOL) :)

Trade Round Up Round 11

In's & Out's - Round 11.jpg

Trade Observations...
1.
Coach would have been beyond stoked with new recruit Dayne Zorko's 162
2. Coaches saw a lot of value in Adam Cerra but would have hoped for more
3. Coaches thought Chad Warner could help them no more
4. Coaches jumped off James Jordon
5.
Coaches would have loved the 154 from Jack Steele
6.
Coaches where happy to pay a little for the potential of Cody Weightman
7.
Coaches thought Isaac Heeney was too good to pass up despite the massive injury risk he brings
9. Coaches liked what they saw in future young gun James Madden
12.
Coaches parted ways with Anthony Scott

General Observation...
Teams are all starting to look very similar as the same players are getting traded in, Real lack of POD premiums this year in the league.

ROUND 12 PREVIEW

Round 12 has arrived, and it is about to get diabolical! This year the SuperCoach gods have chosen to put the Premier League coaches, all holding confidence that they will gain ground over the bye rounds, to the test. A sprinkling of Covid-19 uncertainty, a dash of popular ruck outages and a drop of rookie restings is sure spice things up as coaches try to outwit each other with their emergency planning. Upsets will be there for the taking with coaches focussing on different paths to navigate this rocky period. Who will have the luxury of having their four lowest scores drop off? Who will be stretching to get 18 players on the field? Who will use all three trades available? Who will be caught out this week by to focussing more on the following two rounds? The only certainty this week is that Chris Scott won’t be upsetting anyone with his last-minute selection shenanigans.

Fixture.png

Match of the Round

SuperCoachScores v Blaze of Glory.png
There is no denying that Coach Jay and Coach Tom deserve match of the round status with both teams going for their sixth win in seven weeks. With both teams separated by just 4 points on the ladder this is set up to be one of those classic 8-point encounters. Coach Jay looks to have the early upper hand through the benefit of getting to have his lowest score drop off and three extra premiums on field. However, Coach Tom’s recent form and fighting spirit cannot be dismissed lightly.
Prediction: SuperCoachScores to benefit from the extra depth this round and win by 103

Other Matches

Beasts v Courtesans.png
Coach Ben will be bursting with confidence after getting back onto the winners list last week, whilst Coach Keith will be looking for some revenge after going down in a thriller against another top 4 hopeful. Both teams look evenly matched with only a handful of PODS, meaning that this match will be much closer than ladder positions would suggest.
Prediction: Courtesans to do just enough to keep top 4 aspirations alive and win by 29

Pay the Mark v Darkness.png
Coach Mark came oh so close to knocking off the top team last week and should be taking some new found confidence into this week. However, he looks to only have 17 players available so he may need to look for some new stock to give himself a chance. Coach Adrian was pipped at the post after a couple of strong performances and will be hoping last week was just a once off and not a new norm. Both teams have a similar number of premiums sitting on the pine, but Coach Adrian looks to have more big bodies available for selection.
Prediction: The Darkness to get up in scrappy win by 72

Philzsay v PC.png
Coach Phil will be smarting after going down when playing so well last week, whilst Coach Jack is looking for his third win on the trot as he tries to solidify a top 4 position. With both coaches ranked inside the top 3,000 this has potential to be a bruising battle. However, Coach Phil looks a little better set up for this round with Coach Jack needing to hit that trade button if he wants to even up the playing numbers.
Prediction: Philzsay to benefit from the numbers advantage and win by 126

Rons Badboys v TailsPower.png
Coach David will be looking to turn things around after some poor recent from. As the coach of the only team in the PL without Grundy he will be trying to use that to his advantage this week. Meanwhile, ladder leading Coach Adrian will be taking a long hard look at his team after almost going down to the bottom team last round. A huge amount of PODs in this one should keep things interesting for most of the weekend.
Prediction: TailsPower to do just enough to get the job done and win and win by 27

Diabolical Rabble v GV Vikings FFC.png
The rivalry continues as these two promoted teams who finished in the top 4 of PL2 last year try to emulate that performance in the higher league this year. Coach Andrew will be trying to break the win loss win loss win momentum that is setting in whilst Coach Ashley will be aiming for his third win on the trot. Another match up with similar numbers on field should keep this one tight throughout the weekend.
Prediction: Diabolical Rabble to benefit from less premiums benched this week and win a thriller by 10

Brownies Bandits v Ricky Bobby.png
Coach Iain is hitting some serious form since proclaiming he wouldn’t win another game for the season. A 3 point loss followed by two comfortable wins with huge scores have followed, making him now one of the most feared teams in the league. Coach James will be looking to tighten his defence after allowing the highest score to be kicked against him last week. He is also going to have to make some difficult recruiting decisions as he currently only looks like fielding 16 players.
Prediction: Brownie’s Bandits to continue recent form and win by 95

Jacas Attackers v MADMUNZA.png
This one is shaping up as another one of those season defining 8 point games with both teams currently sitting 4 points outside the top 8. Coach Jason will be bringing a lot of confidence after knocking off the in form Jibrangers last round whilst Coach Matt will be trying to turn things around and bounce back from a diabolical loss! Both teams look like they should get good numbers on field this week and there are enough PODs to keep things interesting throughout the weekend.
Prediction: Jaca’s Attackers to benefit from more premiums on field and win by 84

Jibrangers v Goodies Guns.png
Two traditional PL heavyweights battling it out will make for essential viewing despite both teams currently sitting outside the top 8. Coach Sho was stopped in his tracks last week after posting four straight wins. Coach Tim can’t buy a win despite being the third highest ranked coach in the league. Team structures for this round look similar, and with just 7 POD’s, a single player’s good score could be what makes the difference.
Prediction: Goodie’s Guns to turn the luck around and win a nail biter by 5
