Pirelli completed their investigation into the tyre failures at Baku:
"In a statement issued today Formula 1’s official tyre supplier said: “There was no production or quality defect on any of the tyres; nor was there any sign of fatigue or delamination. The causes of the two left-rear tyre failures on the Aston Martin and Red Bull cars have been clearly identified. In each case, this was down to a circumferential break on the inner sidewall, which can be related to the running conditions of the tyre, in spite of the prescribed starting parameters (minimum pressure and maximum blanket temperature) having been followed."
However, this new rule has come in from this weekend:
"Teams have been told that, as tyre pressures cannot currently be measured reliably during races, it is their responsibility to ensure they remain within the limits set by Pirelli at all times – including during races – and failure to do so will lead to them being reported to the stewards."
So correct me if I am wrong, but it seems Aston Martin and Red Bull (and maybe others that just didn't have failures) have knowingly found a way to have the tyre temps/pressure running outside the limits in the race, but they are within the limits when tested in pit lane?

Sounds like Red Bull / Aston Martin might have been using a work-around which could be the removal of moisture from the inflation gas, or another work-around could be the way the tyres are heated before the pre-race tyre pressure test.
Another issue is the sensors for monioring are supplied and developed by the individual teams not the FIA. So short, each team checks itself.
But it was predictable that Pirelli was going to come back and blame something other than their tyres.

While Stroll is better than he gets credit for, he is yet to outpoint a teammate in his time in F1 and you have to wonder how much longer he will get a free ride before Dad needs to make a decision with his head.
Also, still unsure how I feel about the Ocon extension. Has done well this season but a 3 year contract feels like a mega win for him. Big impact on the alpine rookies too, hopefully Piastri can put himself in the frame for Alonso's seat.

Agree with your comments on Stroll but I suspect he will get at least one more 2 year deal from his dad.
Some recent articles suggest Gasly would be a good fit at Alpine. Doesn't seem like he will get to move back up to the Red Bull team soon. I'm not sure Alpine have gained much taking Alonso back for two seasons.

Looking at the practice times so far, forget everything you saw in Monaco and Baku. Leclerc is 5th (and 7/10ths off the front row) and Sainz is 8th so Ferrari are back to battling to be the best of the rest. Aston Martin are 15th and 16th and don't even look to be in the midfield battle. Hopefully Max can hang on to the Mercedes but it doesn't feel like Perez can do much better than 4th here.
Alpine looks quick for anybody looking for a POD to close up points. Gasly looks competitive enough to take advantage of his negative BE. Likely sacrificing points to utilise Vettel's negative BE (but little choice as he is likely to add $1.5M as soon as qualifying starts).

Two trades for me this round.

Happy with qualifying. It looked like Red Bull had good pace on the mediums so hopefully Perez can get past Bottas.
Gasly is having a very under rated season. He is towards the front of the best of the rest almost every round now.
Vettel 12th not terrible as he will start on mediums and try to jump those ahead starting on softs.
